I'm just posting really quick to say I've fallen in absolute LOVE with a new move. I'm enamored... The Clean and Jerk! Love it! My heart rate was through the roof. I took quite naturally to it, my trainer was praising my form - said she's never seen better. She couldn't get over it. I had a crowd of guys admiring my moves which is always annoying and fun. I'll be back. :lol: Get it? Haha! |
Go FB! I'm not bitter that you've mastered the C&J already! Half the time I curl the cleans without meaning to. Of course, having a real oly bar that spins might help, lol.
Ooh, ooh, I get to brag, too! Now, this might not be impressive to you, Ms Amazon, but I got a new PR on my 5 rep deadlift tonight: 155 lbs! It was the first time I EVER got to use the buff looking 25 kg bumper plates! I think I could have gone heavier if I'd started with higher weights, but that was my 5th set, and I was on the verge of losing the lower back form, so I quit while I was ahead. The boy and I went to the Y tonight. He went to swim, I had planned to workout then join him in the pool. The place was packed like a can of sardines, though! I haven't been back since new year's, since the van broke down, and had no idea how crazy it was! I'll try my usual 6:30 a.m. tomorrow, and hopefully it will be better. If it's that crowded in the morning, I think I'll just start shooting. By the time I got some kind of workout in, I had all of 10 minutes left to swim with my boy, so we're going back tomorrow night. The boy wants to run on the track, so we're going a little early to do that, then we'll both hit the pool so we can hang out together this time! I kept my eating OP, despite being out shopping today too long between meals...I bought a banana at the grocery store, then had a quick snack at home, before we left for the Y. Barb, sorry to hear that you had such a hard night. Hope today went smoother on the home front. :hug: Once again, I'm posting way too late, so I'll catch up with the rest of you ladies when I have more than 2 brain cells to rub together. I'm going to sleep! |
Barb- Sorry to hear about the little guy and not sleeping. My little guy hasnt been the best at sleeping lately either. Maybe its close to a full moon or something?? Hope he slept better for you last night! :hug:

The little guy was super excited to go swimming he wanted to go while we were having our tour!! He also liked the gymnastics area. So I am sure that we will be spending a bit of time there!! Me and my Momma did 35 mins of UB lifting and 30 mins on the treadmil. It felt soooooo good to workout! :) Have a great Tuesday CC Chickies!! :cool: |

I'm scared of them. I tried them for serious the first time today and only worked with the 45 pound bar. I'm truly frightened of screwing up my back. You did some big lifting there! They're such a bewitching exercise. Surrounded by this aura of danger (!) and fitness. I don't get it, such a seemingly simple move that can kill your back. The Y is freaking crazy. Our is, so I canceled the membership and joined somewhere else. Early morning workouts aren't feasible to me, but ours isn't busy at the crack of dawn. You should do well with that - only serious beasty girls go at that hour. And they are a rare breed. ;) ANGEL! Awesome! Glad to hear your workout rocked! The Y is great (ours is just crazy), has a TON of good programs for kidlets included with the membership. Hi Gals! :wave: Thanks for the thoughts...it's been a rough few days around here. All will be fine. :^: The munchkin is still battling me with bedtime at night. I've resorted to bringing my laptop to bed and working/surfing while I constantly shoo him back to bed. I will be installing new black out blinds in his room cause part of the issue seems to be light that shines in at night and scares him. We are also going to let him pick out a new "big boy" bed (he's in a toddler bed/convertible crib type right now.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy, busy day and then I'm heading to the Boston area on Thursday for a quick business trip. I'll be back on Friday afternoon. I'm actually looking forward to one night away by myself in a quiet hotel room. Once again I'm posting and running...I'll catch up more soon. :hug:Barb |
Just a quick check-in...
Did good on the calories and carb front today... YAY! Unfortunately, no exercise though... I couldn't get my lazy be-hind out of bed in time to do my Abs Diet routine. SMH. On Sunday I'm going to begin a ten-day exercise challenge- to exercise 8 out of those 10 days! Hope all is going well with you ladies. I've been reading the postings and it seems like you all are really on point with your exercise plan. I need to take a page out of your book. :dust: |

Shauna, good luck with the exercise. I'm trying to get back to some sort of sane routine myself. I haven't been getting to my workouts till evening, which isn't the best time for me. I'd like to get back to some kind of morning schedule, but need a transition day. Today is not a lifting day, so I think I'll do 30-45 of an easy jog, then see if I can get up on time Thurs for an early lifting session. Barb, hope the new bed helps the boy feel better about sleeping, so you can get some sleep! Have fun with your night away! Knowing you, you'll spend it in the hotel gym, lol! FB! I got a new PR on my dumbbell flat bench last night, with 2 forty pounders! I'm not ALL that, though, because I was doing the BFL sets, just because I wanted to. Those are 12-10-8-6-12, and the 40s were for my 6 rep set only. Still, it felt beasty! My everything hurts today, after 3 days of lifting and crossfitting. :faint: I'd better finish up here and check my email. I haven't checked it in 2 days, and the inbox is probably ready to explode. Had planned to run errands today, but the boy's dad called last night to say that the boy's grandpa was in town from Arizona, and could they come visit today, so change of plans there. Oh, the good news is, I think I found the problem with the van...or a problem, at least...the fusible links at the starter burned up, at least one of them did, so today I will cut those loose and see if I can score some replacements at the auto parts store. If not, I found a place online where I can order the special wire for that. It's actually good that this happened, because some dufus cut too much insulation off the wire from the alternator, so I had a bare "hot" wire touching the metal down there...probably what blew the fusible link in the first place, but good thing it was there, or my frickin' van could have caught fire! :hot: That van's got more lives than a cat, I swear! |
barb So glad that exercising and training lifted you up!! I should follow your example! I sure hope you get that child to work with you on the bedtime. Nothing more frustrating than a child who won't go to sleep
fb the clean and jerk?? is that kinda like the bend and snap?? lol. those freeweights are SO not my thing. does that make me a wuss? angel mardi gras is fun. to be honest I'm a bit burned out. lol. i'm actually skipping the nola parades and just sticking to my little slidell parades. i work too much to be able to hit all the parades this year jam LOL!!! i saw the lightsabers yesterday and was so confused...but i just let it go and put it off to my sleepiness. good to see i'm not crazy. lol. good thing u caught that before your van caught on fire. that would have sucked. lol sweet we are on the same page honey!!! i think i may do that challenge with ya actually So on to me....I did my strength training on Monday but yesterday I spent all day in child support court. I was so tired on the way home I couldnt' even fathom gettin on the elliptical. So I skipped my cardio...again!!! I haven't done cardio AT ALL in February and I feel like a bum for it!!!! I'm trying not to beat myself up about it but everytime it crosses my mind I get mad at myself. I guess it's cuz I set a fitness challenge for myself to work out everyday this month and I've already failed it. AAAARRRGH!!!!! |

Stayed completely OP today and did my strength training....tomorrow...cardio!!!!!!! Here's to staying on track from now on....I'm working toward ONEderland and once I get there I plan to buy myself a tanning package at work.

HELP!!! I am off track and cant get back on!! 6 days with no power and 4 days with no water or cellphone. I cooked to save our food as much as possible and i ate and ate and ate. We shared with those who had no means of cooking.
We now have everything back on and i just cant get focused back on me!! Scales are up ... today I will plan my meals and be good. I will drink my water!! |
DG, :hug:. It's hard to focus on workouts when you've got bigtime problems like that going on. You'll get it back!

Shauna, here ya go. :kickbutt: lol My weight is up again today. No idea why, because I've been POP and TOM is over. Can't do nuthin' but keep on keepin' on, though. I did a recovery workout last night of 40 mins of walking. Had planned to go longer, but by the time I got the boy in bed and dogs taken care of and all that, it was 10:15, again, and I was too sleepy to do a longer workout. I did the fast walking because for some reason it's harder for me than jogging. Different way of working the muscles, I guess, I dunno. Anyway, back to crossfit land and lower body lifting today. :lifter: |
