I really love my salad dressing. it helps making eating a salad more bearable. (I dont really dig salads that much)
But i heard a tip on the radio one day.. Dip your fork with your salad on it into the dressing instead of coating your salad in it. What I do is, pour the correcting serving size into a bowl on the side, and dip my salad into it. I'm always satisfied with this method and usually end up not eating the entire serving size of dressing. I hope this helps =) |
Depending on how many calories I have to spend, I use either 1 tablespoon or a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and about a tablespoon of basalmic vinegar or red wine vinegar. I make HUGE salads--like serving bowl sized. Love the stuff...I also crush up and add some fresh basil and a shake or two of garlic salt.
I have also been known to just stick with vinegar...but usually I need the healthy fats so in goes the olive oil. |
I use 2 T of dressing on a typical side salad. its usually Newmans own honey mustard. I was one of those people that would use half of a bottle on a salad before I seen the light (no pun intended) :)
