Back to 3FC :)
School has kept me so busy this semester I've hardly had time for anything. I haven't gained anything but I haven't lost either and I haven't had much time for exercising since August.
My husband just informed me that he signed me up for a 10K (because I'm all talk and no action  ). I am currently running 5 miles when I go (about 2 times/week) but I want to start training at least 4-5 days/week and I need some nutritional advice. I'm looking for any site with dieting info for runners... or any amount of calories (carb/prot/fat ratios) etc that will help me burn off some of this excess and run faster (I heard that each lb you lose, you naturally increase your time by about 2 seconds/mile). Also, I read that a Sunday cheat day was good to keep your metabolism up... not to overdo it, but to tack on about 300-500 extra calories or so. Anyone have any wise words on any of this? Thanks a lot. |
:welcome: BACK
I never heard that about the pounds / pace. Interesting thought! There are some nutritional articles here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_1/index.shtml |
Welcome back! :carrot:
That's interesting about the pounds and pace. I don't give myself cheat days but I will have a high calorie day now and then where I still count all my cals but may eat around 2000 instead of 1600. |
