who wears LEVI's?

i have worn LEVI's jeans foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. .. ive always been somewhat of a Tomboy and Levi's are just the most comfortable thing i have ever worn in my life! especially after MANY washes - right now tho - im wearing a 42-30 :( thats a Size 20/22 Womens... and i want to get back down to maybe a 38 or 36 even! Anyone Else Wear Them? Whats YOUR Size??? and What Size Do You WANT TO BE???

oneupsteph 10-15-2008 07:05 PM

I personally hate levis. *hides*

But seriously, any pair that I've bought has shrunk. Like freakishly small. But I'm bad at following directions. :dizzy:

Anyway...

I was a size 26 at highest. Currently size 24, and by the end of it all, I'd be elated to be a size 14. I don't wanna be super skinny. I like my curves. I just wanna be confident. And I think I can be in a 14.

:)

raw23 10-15-2008 07:07 PM

I have a pair that I've worn forever - size 16. They're falling off. So I bought a new pair thinking I'm a 14. Nope. 16 again. So now I have two Levi's that are the same size, but fit completely different. I guess I just stretched out my old ones too much. :dunno:

bargoo 10-15-2008 07:12 PM

I have Levis size 6 , and I also have Lee's. Some size 6 and some size 8.I don't have a problem with shrinking, I think it depends on the style.

ghost 10-15-2008 07:20 PM

I have levis that are mens, a 36 x 30, they are too big right now, but I think a 34 would be too small.

ToutDeSuite 10-15-2008 07:27 PM

I have two pairs in a size 18 -- they fit my body type better than any other jeans I've tried on!

murphmitch 10-15-2008 07:41 PM

I have a new pair of Levi's "curvy fit" 529 & I love them! :)

I doubt you stretched them out. I have this problem with Levis. They are inconsistent. I have a theory about it though. Look at the country they are made in (it's on the tag.) If they are made in Indonesia or Mexico I can wear an 8. If they are made in China I wear a 10. I think it just depends on the factory they are made in. Size also varies on the style too.

I don't even bother trying Levis on anymore, although I do still have one pair I like. I'm shifting to wearing dressier jeans and I've yet to find a pair of Levis that qualify as dressy jeans.

My levis

I am 55 yrs old - purchased a pair at Sam's Club a couple months ago. $45 marked down to $17 and amazingly soft and comfortable. They are 525's, somewhat wide belt loops and just the right cut-not too low, but below the naval. I wear sz 6 in this and am continuing healthy eating, working out and will be the size that naturally occurs with this lifestyle!

shelbysmom 10-15-2008 07:52 PM

Levi's are all I wear....I may stray to LEI's,but you know what(they're not as good and don't last as long) My faves were the 518's super low boot cut,and they are very hard to find for some reason so I bought myself a pair of 542's with the button pockets and I love them but the way they button kinda over past the middle they poke me in the belly and wear a raw place,I hate that, then I went and bought me another pair and they fit way to big I actually thought the'd shrink but they didn't,so I guess the'll have to be my TOM jeans!!!LOL!!! Any way I wouldn't take anything for my Levi's Oh and have you noticed that levi's aren't in the junior plus size sections, they're always in just the plus size section,I told DH levi's must be meant for old people now!!!LOL

Hmm... It's a possibility.
Old ones: Indonesia
New ones: Mexico

I wear a size 8 in Levi's 545's. Love them!! But I have a very flat butt:( I think Levi's might be a tough fit if you had more curves.

kittycat40 10-15-2008 08:11 PM

I'm reading this thread and thinking about the store I walked into yesterday but didn't have time to spend trying on...what???... that's right LEVIs!!

They all looked really cute. I haven't tried them on in about 10 years or more. There was a black wash straight leg that looked good to me. Maybe sometime soon ;)

ToutDeSuite 10-15-2008 08:53 PM

Mine must be for a curvy fit because I have back!

tinamae 10-15-2008 09:31 PM

I love Levi's! I just put about 10 pair up in the attic because they were a little to tight to be comfortable. I wear jeans alot... when I'm not wearing scrubs. I have quite a few that are straight leg and maybe when I get back into them (soon) the will back in style again. My 12yo dd wanted skinny legged Levi's like we wore in high school back in the 80's. They make her legs look like they are are four feet long. (we are both 5'1) Her legs come up past my bellybutton.

I have too agree that they can inconsistant. I have three different sizes dating back from a few years ago. I will have to check into what country they were manufactured in.

Has anyone seen the ones that have extra lycra in them for tummy control? I can't remember what number they are but they do feel snugger.

ToutDeSuite 10-16-2008 06:17 AM

Yeah, I both pairs are the same size -- one fits, the other fits too, but a lil more snuggly.

PhotoChick 10-16-2008 10:17 AM

I love Levi jeans. I wear a 10 in the 545 boot cut jeans.

They're my favorite jeans and I can't wait until I can go get a size 8 ... :)

sxulcmnky 10-16-2008 10:22 AM

where do you guys get them at in womens style? heck even men's style?

what's this curvy fit?

PhotoChick 10-16-2008 10:30 AM

Kohls ... I buy all my jeans at Kohls - they have great sales.

.

sxulcmnky 10-16-2008 10:34 AM

Thanks

raw23 10-16-2008 10:41 AM

Sears. And I think Penny's has em, too.

LindseyLouWho 10-17-2008 04:15 PM

I wear Levi's just because they tend to be okay for younger people and be fairly cheap. Currently I'm wearing a 16/17 in Levi's, but then again I have a pair of 16s in another cut (542, I believe) that are too snug for now... or at least they were a couple of weeks ago.

They are incredibly inconsistent and vary in size even by color, not just cut. I don't really plan on wearing them once I can fit into an 11/13, because then I'll be buying my jeans in the juniors department or in the cute boutique type stores that I've always wanted to shop in.
