Pre-Planning

I think I am actually getting the hang of this calorie counting and pre-planning my meals. Everyone has been saying it so much easier to make a plan the day before so you know what you're eating all day and that is so true. On Tuesdays and Thursday I have school from 10-3 and work from 4-10 so I have no time to really make any food it's usually a fast food day on those days for me. Recently though I began counting calories and this week I have been planning my meals all weekend and it has been great.

Tomorrow for breakfast I have eggs with tomatoes in it.
For lunch I have 1 wheat bread sandwich with Healthy Choice deli sliced chicken breast with mustard, 1 banana.
For a snack in between lunch and dinner I have a 90 calorie qauker oats oatmeal raisin bar.
For dinner I made baked Chicken with chipotle southwestern seasoning, with brown rice, and baby carrots.

I was also wondering do you guys think this would be a good on the go and healthy breakfast choice.

I was thinking about doing eggs with salsa in a wheat tortilla for breakfast do you think thats a good breakfast choice and on the healthier side for on the go?

Eggs and salsa in a whole wheat tortilla sounds like a great on the go breakfast. I eat that sometimes too, but I usually add some spinach in as well.

I make muffins periodically and then freeze the surplus. They thaw really quickly, so they are great for on the run breakfasts and for putting in lunches. I make them whole wheat (sometimes I add other grains), I use less sugar, and I always try to get something "redeeming" in them (like veggies or some type of fruit.)

For those days when you over sleep and have no time, it's good to keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge so you can just grab an egg and some fruit. Whole grain toast with peanut butter is a quick transportable breakfast too.

I do think one of my faves is a whole wheat tortilla with 1T of peanut butter wrapped around a banana. I haven't had it in awhile though, maybe that'll be tomorrows breakfast...

Good

That sounds really good I will have to try the peanut butter tortilla and banana I bet that would taste great. I love Bananas.

I also saw on Healthy food network just wheat bread with peanut butter and Bananas which I have heard of before but I kinda of forgot about it. I will have to try the tortilla though, thanks!

It's even better is you heat the tortilla first or nuke the whole thing for a few seconds. The peanut butter gets all warm and melty. Yum!

Speaking of pre-planning, I have been buying a bag of baby spinach and when I get home from the store, cutting up a green pepper, an onion, and sometimes a zucchini. Then it's super easy to just grab a handful of the veggies, throw them in a skillet with pam, and scramble an egg in it. I eat it in 1/2 a whole wheat pita, throw in some fruit or a yogurt, and its a super satisfying 5 minute breakfast!

The pre-chopping makes all the difference, because there's no way I'd do the chopping every morning. I also use the veggies in a bunch of different ways throughout the week. Makes it easier to try to sneak them in wherever possible!

Good luck! ;)
