Calories not listed?
I am new to the whole counting calories thing and am trying to keep track of it daily. I bought some bags of salad mixes at the store and they have no nutrition info listed on the bags at all...I went to the companys website and it isn't listed there either.
It is- DOLE Spring Mix consists of baby lettuces, endive and mustard greens. Any advice of what to put it as? Thanks! Also it says a serving size is 3oz about how many cups would that be anyone know? |
In Fitday, I'd enter that as "Mixed greens, raw". That'll be close enough...and its probably around 15 calories per three ounces.
If you know the total weight of the bag, you can figure out how many servings the bag is supposed to be. For example, a 12 oz bag would be 4 servings. Then just divide the bag in 4ths to get a 15 calorie serving. Since it is not a calorie-dense food, you'll be OK estimating. Hope that helps! |
Mandalinn, you are right on targer....15 calories per 3oz!

Thanks so much :) I finally found it on the dailyplate and it was 15 calories! Good guess :)
And good advice on splitting it up to see how much is a serving. That makes so much sense, can't believe I didn't think of that lol. thedailyplate is an amazing site. has tons of foods listed glad I found it. |
Usually a cup of lettuce or greens weighs around 1 oz.
