I'm just switching over to counting calories from Weight Watchers using Calorie King. I'm 5'8 and weigh 295. They suggested 1930 calories. I adjusted it to 1800 and lost 4 pounds the first week. I had NOT been able to lose on WW. I'd lose one pound and gain two the next week, or stay at the same weight for three weeks and then lose 2 pounds. (Of course, I don't expect a 4 pound weight loss every week, but still, I'm encouraged!)
My main goal this summer is to eat real foods -- no prepared foods, no frankenfoods, no junk foods. I've been doing that for a week, too (mostly :) ) and feel so much better. I'm not eating low fat -- I'll still have butter -- and even though I'm allowed 1800 I averaged between 1600 and 1700 last week, but was never hungry. |
