My DH goes with the flow. I eat junk, he eats junk. I eat healthy, he eats healthy. He's naturally thin, but since we got married (almost 6 yrs ago) he's put on weight...oops, blame the cook! :D

Now that I'm trying to lose weight he eats what I make, with some additional snacks for him. He's a huge ice cream fan and has to have his bowl of ice cream often. He's said he wants to lose weight, but I think that'll come naturally now that I'm making better food for the two of us.

i STILL have to go to the "real" grocery store to buy food for HIM because he just won't eat some of the substitutions. I buy him two weeks at a time and tell him every week the treats have to last but they NEVER do. it's monday, i REFUSE to shop until friday and he's already whining because he's gone through 4 bags of chips (at almost $3 a bag!!!) and a gallon of ice cream in the last week!

amen sister, everything you said is exactly what I do. Our budget is $40 a week (we poor..) I am a trained chef, if I wasn't we couldn't live on $40 a week.

DH was bashing a vegan hotdog the other day and (before I thought) I said "oh your found the vegan-dogs, I'm glad you like them" he literally spit it out in his hand... :club:

He honestly eats like a 4-year old. We had honey ham at a family dinner and I didn't even think about him "not liking ham" then on the way home he was talking about how the ham wasn't half bad and that he could probably try it again!

AND (I do love him, just not his eating habits) I asked him what the "substitute dinner" was when he was a kid. (we could make a PB and J or sandwich if we really weren't feeling dinner as kids in my family) he said "We didn't have one, Mom always took orders for dinner" (orders?!) they literally ate fast food EVERY NIGHT!!

Sigh. rant over. this little game is very cleansing!

My bf is lazy, so he will eat whatever I put in front of him. BUT he will complain if whatever meal I'm serving doesn't have meat in it. And when I hand him his plate of healthy food, he goes right back into the kitchen and pours about a pound of cheese over everything!! Or mayo. Or butter.

He has the capacity to wolf down 3 burgers and fries in about 5 minutes, while I'm still on my 3rd or 4th bite of food. It's maddening. If we try to share an appetizer at a restaurant--forget it! He always wants the bacon cheese fries and mini burgers. I guess the good thing is that if he does order this horrendous food he eats it all too fast for me to get more than a bite :D

He's 6'1, 175 lbs. He is thin but out of shape. If he wasn't so lazy and would work out once in a while, he would lose the little bit of fat on his stomach, AND he would be in better health. I've tried and tried to get him to work out with me in the morning, to no avail. He tries it for a few days and then hates it and gives up.

This sounds like my family growing up. We ate fast food probably 5 nights a week, and the other 2 nights were frozen pizzas. Horrible horrible food habits. Both of my parents worked, and neither knew how to cook. And they didn't want to learn either. Lazy unhealthy EXPENSIVE eating habits. Luckily I moved away and have broken free!! I think they still eat out most days of the week. I wish they wouldn't, because they are overweight and their health worries me :( I've gently tried to tell them, but they won't listen.

What does my boyfriend eat? Everything I'm not allowed to.

My wonderful husband gained every bit of the 38 pounds I gained when I was pregnant, and he has continued to gain. He is 6'2 and about 242 lbs (that is down from 250lbs) He really wants to lose weight and be slim but I don't think he has the discipline it takes. Both he and I want to lose weight for the same reason....so we can wear stylish clothes and feel confident in them. Silly huh?? But we are really into fashion and feel like we can't wear what we want to cause we are big chubbalubbas. I am just hoping that with my weight loss he will see that it can be done and he follows my lead. :)

Grabby husbands are NEVER a bad thing. :)

I once answered this question with "Whatever isn't nailed down."

DSO is naturally thin, always has been. His father eats three times what I ate at my worst and has never broken 175. However, since I have been eating healthier, DSO actually REQUESTED a salad the other day.

Fortunately I am not craving bad for me stuff anymore. The only really bad thing he keeps in the house is ramen.

My SO is a power lifter so he eats tons of pasta, works out all the time, blah blah. That is just as bad as if he ate chocolate, fast food and junk all the time in front of me. He criticizes and questions everything I put in my mouth. While I love him for it I have this desire to switch his protein shakes for ice cream smoothies*.

*I would never do that, but the thought is there

DH is really supportive; he'll try darn near anything I put in front of him, and he once told that if there was something for dinner he hated, he'd cook his own, because his arms weren't broken.
However, I do the grocery shopping. He has good intentions, but he typically gets snack food, and I get "real" groceries, like meat, rice, veggies, milk, trash bags, and toilet paper. ;)

I cannot keep my husband full. I don't know what to do. Some days he just eats like a horse. The other night I had to make him dinner TWICE, haha. He's 6'5" and 200lbs with quite a bit of muscle. He needs about 3000-4000 calories per day in order to not feel like he's starving.
