Calorie count cooked with oil vs without oil
I am really bad about getting enough fat in my diet (long gall bladder surgery story) so in the PM I usually add a tbs of olive oil to 6 triscuits.
But I was thinking of occasionally mixing it up by frying my meat for the day in the olive oil instead. Like a chicken breast or turkey patty. But if you fry in 1 tbs, how much of the oil do you actually eat? The oil always seems gone in the pan, so does it evaporate or soak into your food? Do I get my full tbs or less? |
Calories generally don't "evaporate," so if there's no oil left in the pan, it's absorbed into the food. The only way, generally that the calories in raw foods can be decreased by cooking would be through burning (to the point that you wouldn't eat the food, anyway).

You mean, my way of cooking....lol! I do tend to cook with lots of zeal, but little skill! |
