For cereal and liquids I use measuring cups, does anyone know how to measure frozen yogurt? How many scoops are a 5 oz portion...?

I got a big container of frozen yogurt and want to be able to include in my food journal how much I eat for dessert.

I think i would measure it in measuring cup rather than use a scoop. I would find myself eating more than 5 oz! LOL.

It's really probably worth it to get a digital scale. I admit I'm pretty anal but it's working for me. Also once you get used to seeing the right amounts you learn portion control on your own so when you're out and don't have access to scales/measuring cups you can guestimate pretty well. You can find good scales for around $20.

If you really want to have 5 oz the only way to go is a food scale. Ice cream and frozen yogurt I use a half cup measuring cup but things that I want a certain amount of oz like meat I use my scale. My scale and measuring cups and measuring spoons are priceless to me.

I'd use a dry measuring cup (the metal kind) versus a liquid measuring cup (glass.) Dry oz are different from fluid oz. If you want to be completely accurate though, Fat Chick B Gone and Shy are right, get a scale.

1/2 cup = 4 ounces.
