Getting annoyed, grrrr.

  • Hey guys,
I just need to vent a little, well a lot, nothing major though. Right, when I went to the supermarket with my mum I got her to buy me some healthy substitutes. I had wholemeal pitas instead of bread for any sandwiches, alpen for me to take to school to eat and lots of fruit and veggies.

First off, she wouldnt let me take the things back to school with me and secondly, when i did get home on Friday, my sister had eaten nearly all the alpen, pitas and fruit. Grrrr!! Aswell, i've kind of fallen out with my mom so when i asked her if she could keep my healthy stuff aside she said it was for all the family to eat. I don't go shopping with my mom often as she only gets bits as she goes along so we usually don't have much fruit or anything decent in. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed. I just don't think its fair, my sister consumes all the bread, cereals and fruits in the house, its like she's some kind of hover or something. Whenever she sees something thats mine its like she has to eat it My dad is home for a while now and he always buys bad things too. What has a girl got to do to eat healthy!!!

Ahh, its driving me nuts! I get given an allowance as i'm at boarding school and i don't want to have to use it to be able to have healthy foods for myself.

I have a feeling i should give my sister to the circus and she can 'The Human Food Hover' or something. Hurumph,
    Thankies

  • Hmmm, well it seems there's not a lot to do if your mom paid for it. It does suck to have someone eat all of your food. Before I moved out of my parent's house, I used to buy all my own groceries because all my mom beleives in is processed foods, and then my brother would hog them down while I was at work!

Maybe you could just budget your spending money to buy a few of the more expensive things you really like, then stick with cheaper diet-friendly things the rest of the time. (Or sneak home some pitas in your book bag....)
  • I think i might just do that, there is a really nice fruit and veg place in town i might go to in a few days and get some supplies up to my room! Shall also hide pittas. I guess hiding the things is my only option.
    Thanks
  • Maybe you should have a sit down with Mom. Sometimes us moms are just trying to get things done (such as grocery shopping, laundry, etc.) and don't always see the big picture. I do understand where you are coming from. I didn't realize how much I sabatoged my daughter's diet until I started dieting. You may also point out your sister obviously likes the healther options as she is eating them as well - so maybe she could buy more of the good stuff. Good luck - hang in there!
  • Yeah, I don't think you're going to get very far with the "Its my healthy food and you can't have any!" route. If your mom is buying it using family grocery money then yes, it is for everyone in the family.

Sorry if that sounds negative, but only if you use your money is the stuff truly yours. Trying to get your mom to buy more healthy stuff overall for everyone might be your best bet.
