WELCOME LADYBUG!!!!!!
Lara: :( I hate when my Dh even has to work over night I couldn't imagine being away that long from him. But it will go by really fast and when he comes back there will be less of you :P well I am stuck at 180 my body doesn't want to break into the 170's I am determined to be there by sunday :) I Dyed my hair yesterday black with fushia underneath whne I wear it in a pony tail it looks half and half when I wear it down it looks like I have fuschia tips I love it...I think Dh hates it lol but oh well. I am making a new goal for myself to cut down on my carbs again I allowed myself bread when I was sick and now I can't control myself again I am staying in my calories but all I am eating is breads, pastas and crackers. I need to get back on track!!! |
Irish- Bread is evil....LOL! It's my weakness too, along with pasta. I haven't re-introduced that in my body yet, and don't plan on it for a while. LOL! Good luck with getting rid of bread. Evil bread and pastas. I love them, but they don't love me!

Laura ~ I will have to look when I get home. I bought it at Kroger's in the vegetarian/organic section. They even had soy milk and rice milk in individual containers. I think its a great idea because you could even pack them in lunches.
Shy ~ I know he will be back and we do need breaks like this from each other. To much time together is not a good thing for us, at least from my point of view. After watching programs on TV that show people being caught in the act at restaurants I worry. Sad but true, I try to make my orders as uncomplicated as I can so they don't do something sick to my food. Tinky ~ I have never done a fruit flush and was just wondering how you did yours. No, I will not eat things that have artificial sweeteners in them anymore. I detoxed from them about a month maybe month and a half ago because I found out how bad they were. I had headaches for over a week during the process, I was a heavy user. Well I had a wonderful dinner last night. I cute up tomatoes, a green onion, bell peppers (different colors), little avocado, 1 cheese stick, 1/2 c. pasta, 1 Tomato & Basil burger, and put Italian dressing over it. Then I went and sat on the porch and ate it because the sun was out and it was about 38 - 40 degrees. It was so nice and relaxing. DD still had Jose because they took a road trip with a friend so it was just me, my food and the warm sun. I felt so peaceful and relaxed. Of course later DD freaked out to make up for it. LOL! Anyway, the food was so good that I made it for lunch today except no avocado because their wasn't any left. I even got to brush my horses last night. They are really losing their winter coat, well the big guy anyway. The ponies are just losing some of their longer fur but keeping their dense undercoat still. They all were happy to get some attention. It felt good to be able to do that. Well I better get going and I will talk to you all later. |
Thanks for the welcome IrishFairy! I have been cutting down on my calorie intake and wow! I still ate over 2000 calories yesterday. Considering how much I weigh, I would probably still lose weight, but I must have really been packing away the calories these past couple of years !! I am gonna see how much weight I lose over this week..if any. If I lose some eating an average of 2000, then I will be satisfied. My goal is a pound a week for now. If I do start losing, I know eventually my calories will need to be lowered. I stay so hungry, and I have really tried to make healthy choices, but geez..I really do eat alot!! I've drank my water..well averaging 64oz a day, which is really good for me. I wasn't going to weigh for a few weeks, but I think I'll stop in at the doctor's office on Tuesday and see what it says.

Tinky and Irish, that is one thing I can control is bread and pasta. I just always measure and buy the healthiest I can find. I use the lower glycemic type products.
Oh, I had homemade bread yesterday that a German student made. It is way different than our bread. It was dense and moist. I was more like banana bread texture and it had nuts in it. I said this isn't bread and they said it is what they use for sandwiches. Now it could just be that one recipe but wow it was way different. A thin slice would be about all you would want it was so heavy. |
Yeah, I go overboard with bread too. I polished off a full baguette and a whole tub of toby's tofu pate with two of my friends at a study group on tuesday... oops. :)
Pasta though, I don't even particularly like anymore. It really tastes like empty food to me. It makes a nice matrix for other flavors though, so a little helping of pasta heaped with veggies and garlic and some meat or cheese or shrimp or something, now that sounds good. Mmm, I think I just planned dinner. |
Just a quick fly by for now to say hello.

I don't have a problem with bread or pasta... unless it's white bread or pasta. I can control myself with whole wheat/grain products, but not the white stuff. I almost never eat anything refined anymore anyway, so it's not a problem.
Ladybug~I can't remember if I've said this yet, so :welcome3: Irish~Your hair sounds cute! You should post a picture so we can all see. :) Grammy~I think I know what you are talking about with the German bread. There is a brand of it you can sometimes find here in the US in health food stores or more savvy markets. It's called Mestemacher. I love the whole rye bread they make! It is really dense and sliced thin and makes killer sandwiches. Tinky~I didn't have enough time (or a map) to venture out into the places you told me about. I ended up getting sushi in Issaquah by myself (DH was on the plane.) I think we may be going back over the pass in a few weeks though and I want to check out Uwajimaya then. I looked at their website and it looks like a place I could spend hours in. :D |
Happy Weekend All!
Well the fiance and I had a majorly filling meal today. We went to an Ethiopian restaurant, I have since gotten him into it. I had enough to last me all day, and it did, I had it for dinner too. Now I'm stuffed and bloated. LOL! Zenor- I love Uwajimya! Yes you can spend all day in there, not to mention a lot of money in there too! LOL! Well see you all on Monday! |
Oooh, I love Ethiopian food! I love the fact that not only is it healthy, but it's okay to eat with your hands!
|
Zenor: I will try and get a pic later today :)
well TOM has arrived and....with him came an extra lb...I am hoping it is TOM weight but you never know since my body is so screwed up since the flu. :P Well in better news I bought a ps3 yesterday my husband wanted one for a while but I didn't think it was necessary then I played rockband...and became addicted lol. so we bought both yesterday. I LOVE ROCKBAND. I sing and DH plays guitar...now DS needs to get older so he cam play the drums lol. We still need to try out the Bluray DVD player in it. I wonder if there really is a difference...we don't have an hd tv so I am not sure we will even notice one :S |
Irish- We have a PS3 too, yes there is a pretty big difference with the Blu-Ray players. The pic is a lot more crisp and sharp. As for needing a HD Tv, I don't know. LOL! I have limited knowledge about these things, but I only know what I have at home. LOL! Rock Band is fun! I had to sing while DF, and the Bro played drums and guitar. It's even more fun with alcohol, but we only did that once.
|
I did it with alcohol on friday at my inlaws it was hillarious!!!!
|
I played Rock Band for the first time on Friday, and had a BALL! I got put on drums, and thought I was going to suck, but on my first try, I got 98% on easy level, and on my second try, I got 94% on medium. Looks like I missed my calling as a drummer!
My weight is up and I'm trying to figure out how to revamp my plan. Looking at graphs of my food from December (when I was losing weight) and comparing them to now (when I'm maintaining/gaining), it seems like the difference is cycling. Before I ate the same calories every day (or close to it), while now I'm way up one day and way down the next. Has anyone else had problems with cycling? |
Laura
I stay between 1200 and 1400 calories average for the week. I don't bother with doing anything other than that. |
