Default Big Cookie Temptation

Everyday in my cafeteria they have these enormous (4 1/2 inch) sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies with frosting. They are so tempting, and every single day I have to look at them and try to resist. They don't list the calories though... how many calories do you think would be in a 4.5 inch sugar cookie with chocolate frosting? Fitday is no help lol...

probably more than you want to eat. You can sorta guess from fitday with similar foods. It depends if the frosting is made with lard. If its not refrigerated it probably is. Your looking at 400 calories probably

Ack! My downfall too. I can't let myself have the first bite, else I'd never stop.

I'm always tempted by the ones at Starbucks, which sound like they're about the same size but without icing. Starbucks nutritional info has them at 370 - 500 calories, depending on the variety, so maybe that's a ballpark guess?

Same thing at my work but they alternate the goodies. I told the ladies who work at our lunch counter that I am not to order any of it and they help me. There are times when I wish I hadn't done that but it does help! Frosting is my number one thing. I had a dream about a cupcake the other night...

WAAAAAY TOOO MANY!!!! And SOOO not worth it. Good for you for resisting. It IS hard isn't it?

Keep this is mind, it just may make resisting some what easier - somebody told me last week that they read an article titled, "If Sugar Were Discovered Today, It Would Be Classified as a DRUG." A drug? Can you believe it?

And check out this article from TIME:

I can believe it about Sugar being classified as a drug if it were found today! Goodness with diabetes on the rise and you know it's all from sugars and carbs that turn into sugar! I try to stay clear but like any "drug" you crave it!

I've learned, through many-a trial and error that I just need to stay away from sugar--for me, that means straight up sugar and refined carbohydrates. I love sugar cookies as much as the next person, and buttercream frosting... Well, I could eat half a jar of it in a sitting. I have eaten 3/4 of a bag of mint oreo cookies in a sitting, too. I just can't stop myself when I have sugar I'd say an extra 300-500 calories at lunch definitely isn't worth it--and it especially isn't worth it if it might trigger you to eat more sugar. That's just my .02 worth.

Or how about finding 3 or 4 other people to SHARE it with, on the spot?
No bagging it up or thinking about it laying around.

I saw some big cookies at Whole Foods and was curious how many calories they had in them. 500. Way too much.

I'm with Azure!
Sugar takes over my soul after just a little nibble! I am better completely staying away from it. I lose my cravings after a while anyways!
I am trying to only put food in my body that has mega nutritional content!!
Cookies are from the devil!!

I guess I have gotten good at this will power thing. Dh bought me a box of truffles for v-day and I promised myself I would eat one every day and I have done exactly that except some days I don't have any. He bought me 10 and I have 1 left for later today.

Anyways I had another idea. What about baking your own healthy cookies that taste good and aren't loaded in calories and bringing those to work once in awhile.

Not cookies, but I've been using vitamuffin mixes. They are awesome

I eat chocolate almost every day. A little piece of it. Recently, I did buy myself some really good truffles and I didn't want to dig into them one after another which was amazing. I do plan to have 1 every day though until they are gone. And I can't buy them again until the end of summer (they only ship out in the cooler months)
