Intro from a newbie

Good Morning Everyone,
Just wanted to say HI and tell you a little about myself. My name is Michele and I'm married to a wonderful man (Joe). We have 2 sons ages 17 and 15. I was doing WW before the holidays and slacked off but have decided to still follow the WW way but to calorie count instead of doing the points. I really hate the points, I want to know how many calories I'm eating every day!

I have the CalorieKing program on my computer and I am using that to keep track of daily calories, fats, proteins and carbs. I'm also starting to log in my exercise time. Aiming for 60 min a day at 6 days a week.

You all have a great day!

Hi Michele - I love Calorie King. I've used the palm pilot program throughout my weightloss. I can plan my meals anywhere, anytime, and play with changing around ingredients and quantities. Plus, having that database right in my handbag means I can't plead ignorance when I'm out and about!

Welcome, and good work getting started!

I use Daily Plate, but I agree that I love having access to a calorie database wherever I go. I am constantly pulling out my PDA and checking things. Yesterday we had lunch in from Cosi, and there were some yummy looking cookies. I guessed at 250 calories or so, and was considering having one. Fortunately, I looked it up: 440 calories per cookie!!! That's so many calories for a little cookie; it really grossed me out. I stayed away and was glad I did :)

Welcome and hope you find success with calorie counting!

Hi Michele

Welcome to 3FC. I am a member of CalorieKing myself but I use DietPower software on my PC.

Hey Girls,
Thanks for the welcome. I've never heard of Daily Plate or Diet Power but I'll be checking them out. I've been thinking of getting a PDA just to have a calorie counting program with me all the time. I'll have to search into that some more.
