Hihi, new here, lost 50lbs so far!

I just posted this in the introduction forum but I'll post it here too, because calorie counting is what I'm MOST into! :)

I've been reading this board for awhile now and finally decided to start posting! I'm Jenn, 27, female, living in Atlanta, GA right now but originally from upstate, NY -- we're moving back to NY soon!

I started dieting in June (2007) starting at 319lbs! I'm down to 269lbs now and still have a lot to go but I'm taking it slow.

I cycle my calories, averaging 1829 per day:

Sun: 1800
Mon: 2000
Tue: 1400
Wed: 2800
Thu: 1200
Fri: 1500
Sat: 2100

And take a free day in place of the 2800 cal day every 2 weeks.

I eat a lot of real foods and skip the "diet" pre-portioned stuff as much as possible. I love food and I don't deprive myself of any of it. I practice moderation, balance AND indulgence!

I do 3 or 4 days of cardio for now and strength training. As I lose more weight I do not plan on lowering my calories, but instead increasing my cardio and my patience!

I'm doing this for life and I really enjoy it. I believe in eating at your TARGET maintenance calories and going slow. Deprivation and silly crash diets never work in the long run.

I keep a diet journal and food tracker/daily menu on my personal diet blog that's in my sig.

I hope everyone is enjoying their journey and destination as much as I am!!

I post on a lot of different boards and this is one of the cutest!! :D

:welcome: You are doing great to have lost 50lbs since June!

Honestly, I think one of the hardest parts of weight loss is finding a plan you can stick to for life. It sounds like you've found that, so even though the journey's not over yet you've certainly got a big portion of the challenge handled! Keep up the great work!

Congrats on your lose.

I think I will cycle like you do. I am using 1800 calories also.

Gina
