Daily Plate calculator

I was wondering if anyone uses the daily plate calculator? For my height 5'4" and my acivity level, it has me eating 1233 calories aday for a 1.66# per week weight loss. I feel full and I still eat alot just alot more lower calorie items, but I was just wondering if this sounds about right to those of you who have been doing this awhile. I know that during the week, I don't get alot of exercise, as I am behind a desk alot, but I also don't want to eat to little and have no where to go if I need to cut back more.

It does sound a little low for the amount you want to lose...1200 is considered a minimum of calories needed daily in order to get the nutrients your body needs. Unless you plan on adding exercise in later, you won't have any wiggle room on your calories if you hit a plateau.

Why not try a little higher - like 1400-1500 and see if you lose on that? Then if you don't lose take it down slowly or add exercise. IMHO - you need to add exercise anyway. A little weight training goes a long way to a better looking body. And a walk is so relaxing! Try it, you might like it!! :cb:

I thought this sounded kind of low myself that is why I asked. I do walk as I have time, but lately I have been working 12 1/2 hr shifts and it doesn't leave alot of time. I work in a county jail, and there are only certain times that I can leave, but I do walk out side weather permiting.

Weight training I need to be very careful with, as I have a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyapathy, this is what Flo-Jo and many other athletes have died from, and I have a pacemaker defribulator, and take meds to keep my heart rate very slow, so it won't enlarge anymore. Right now it is 60 beats per minute. If I get my heart rate to high it will cause my defribulator to go off, not a fun thing, so I stick to walking and sit ups mostly.

Congratulations on your weight loss chick in the hat, you have done great. I only hope that I can loose the weight I need to also, no I have to say that I know I can, as long as I keep going, and I will.
