Slept late this morning ,and now the day is going faster than I wanted it to go.I have to get to my choir rehearsal this afternoon. I love zig zagging my calorie range day by day,but now I see on the Biggest Loser that thats not the right way to lose weight.They [doctors & nutritionist]say multiply your weight x7=your daily calorie intake for weight loss. So mine is 163 X7=1141 and not a range from 1200-1500 like I was planning to use until I reach. ThinkThin=Welcome:welcome2: I joined the thread 2 days ago,and I like you were on all sort of diets but I like the counting calories the best.Good luck on you weight loss journey. .Zenor-I don't use butter either. In fact I use cream cheese as a spread or laughing cow instead. Once in a while I use the I Can't Believe Is Butter pump spray. I guess in baking that another matter. Most recipes call for butter. Tinky-Thats for the welcome.I was lucky this TG I didn't gain that much it was 1 lb & now it gone.Have to really work hard on the next upcoming holidays. beach bum~ How fast are you wanting to lose? I'm still losing (slowly) and I eat 1500-1600 calories per day. I'd starve on that equation (1064 cals.) The Biggest Loser is a bit extreme in my way of thinking. A 1-2 lb loss per week is preferable and I'm sure you can achieve that in the 1200-1500 range.
Of course I don't always trust the "professionals" they put on TV. TV producers look for the ones that are going to attract the most viewers. But I also haven't seen much of the show either. |
Beachbum- that is really useful info. Mine equalled 1645. Right at the range that I am eating right now. I eat between 1500-1700 a day. So I am right there. YAY!!! And of course I know that it will go down as I lose weight.
Today started out as a good day. I had a light english muffin with 1 egg and 1 egg white for breakfast. Then I went out to lunch with my mom and two uncles and I had chicken fried steak. Then I went to my moms and had a meatball sandwhich, a cookie, and cheese and crackers. But I am not going to let that get to me. I am going to have a good dinner and Ill skip the ice cream tonight and Im going to do an hour on the tredmill tonight instead of 1/2 hour..... |
In case someone hasn't seen it tand would like . Here is a calorie formula
( Weight x 4.5 ) + ( Height x 15.88 ) - ( Age x 5 ) - 161 =Total A Total A x % below = Total B Sedentary 20% Lightly Active 30% Moderately Active 40% Very Active 50% Total A + Total B = Total Daily Calories Subtract 500 Calories to drop 1lb a week. This really does work. It equals out almost exactly the amount of calories I take in and I lose about 1lb a week. I was surprised when I plugged my numbers in and found out it really does work. No wonder I can't lose more than about 1lb a week. Heck I would have to go under 700 calories a day to lose 2lbs a week and that is never going to happen lol. |
Beachbum-Surprisingly I didn't gain as much as I though, maybe a lb. But I wasn't dreading the holidays as much, I had a game plan on. LOL! Good luck going in the rest of the holiday season. I'm trying to be good myself! LOL!
Shy- Forgive me, but for the height portion of the formula is it asking for height in inches? Well I did pretty well, until DB took us to the buffet, I didn't do too badly, but I was on a good healthy streak all day! LOL! Well good night everyone! :D |

Didn't post this morning as i wasn't feeling well and slept in again. That made the afternoon go by so fast as I had grocery and other things to do. Zenor=I really don't want to lose too fast but since I'm on the calorie counting [for 2 weeks]I lost a 1- lb per week. So far its 2 lb. Before counting calories I was on a low carb diet and I found that adding more grain carbs to my diet my weight is going down where I use to stalls weeks on end. I know that losing 1-2 lbs a week it the healthiest way of dieting. I will stay on the 1200-1500- range,thats for sure. dek-I used the calculator for the biggest Loser formula and to me thats to low.If I followed them I would be eating 1141.Don't really want to go lower than 1200. Shy Moment-Just used my calculator and the totals don't match. MY total A and total B comes out to 87622.22 What kind of # is that. Tinky-Thanks, I need all the luck I can get.Hope this calorie counting will work like it has,I don't see why not.
