Convection Oven!
The other day I splurged and purchased a small convection oven so I wouldn't heat up the house cooking in the summertime.
I cooked skinless chicken in it ... and OMG, it tastes as if it is sinful beyond belief. I don't know why it does it so well .... but :dizzy: I tried it for chicken again as an experiment to see if it was simply the cut ... but again it worked just as great. My favourite new diet tool: Convection! |
Mine is grilling! Last year we mastered grilling meat -- I think our chicken is sinful too! :D And this year I'm experimenting with grilled veggies!

I also have a small convection oven and love it! I particularly love to roast vegetables in it. They get perfectly roasted, with very little oil, and the texture is always perfect.

I'm glad to see this topic! I have a wall oven (double one, which I LOVE) and it has a convection baking feature. I've never used it! I've heard about convection ovens, but I don't know how they are so different than conventional ovens.
Any tips would be great. Recipes, ideas for cooking in one etc... |
Mmmm ... I love grilling too. Especially for veggies!
I will have to try the roasted veggies in the convection oven. Oh yeah. Convection ovens cook faster than regular ovens. For instance, the other night I cooked a baked potato in about 35 minutes. In my regular oven, it would take about an hour and a half. Just don't use foil to wrap food in, or it slows down the timing. There are some recipes in the booklet it came with, I will post some when I can :) I am not sure why it makes food more delicious ... but it does. Anything that can be baked in an oven can be done in the convection. |
