I eat veggie burgers, which can sometimes be higher in calories than regular lean burgers.
So I wanted to save on the calories from the hamburg buns, which can run upwards from 120 cals (Wonderbread and generic versions).
Anyhow, I only had hotdog buns left and cut one in half sideways, so each half had a top and bottom. And while it didn't cover the whole burger ... it did the job! It was half of 130 cals ... so 65 in total.
From now on, I am going to buy hotdog buns and just cut them.
How do you all reduce the calories for things like bread if you don't have low calorie versions available?
