i need help crunching numbers

  • can I get a formula to figure out the percentage of carbs/fat/protein I am eatting?

    Cal count = 1469
    carbohydrates = 238g
    fat = 14g
    protein = 103g
  • If you enter it into a fitday/dailyplate type program it should calculate it for you.
  • I just realized you do have a fitday account. I use something else and it tells me percentages. I clicked on your fitday and it looks like you just have a pie chart. Maybe someone else can help.

    I just created a "food" in my Diet Power program with the numbers you gave, with nothing else logged for the day. It gives me a pie chart and percentages, and this is what it calculated:

    Fat- 9%
    Carbs- 64%
    Prot.- 37%
  • I just did the same thing as Kimbercan in my program and I got
    28% protein
    64% Carbs
    8% Fat
  • Your fat % is amazingly low! I haven't yet figured out how to add alot of protein without also adding alot of fat.

    I need to figure out what online program to switch to, since I won't be able to load my current program onto my work computer. Thanks for the tip. I wasn't a fan of fitday and this looks a lot more like the program I'm currently using
  • I believe there are 9 calories per gram of fat, and 4 calories per gram of protein or carbs, so with a little simple math, you can calculate your percentages pretty quickly.
  • Fitday does that. Mine are 37P-32C-31F so far today.
    I wonder if we're just not understanding what Ready2ShedLBS is asking ... Do you mean what your percentages should be? Like how Body for Life is 40-40-20??
  • Susan's right. If you go into the Reports section on fitday and look under Calories Eaten, fitday will caluclate it for the day, week, or month.

    I didn't even look at the actual numbers- yours must be right, of course, since mine equals more than 100%, lol. Guess I better check that again....

    Yeah, guess I should have had my glasses on. It says 9%, 64%, and 27%. Just call me Pinocchio.

    My menu yesterday was like this:

    B: 2/3c oatmeal w. 2/3c apple, 1tsp sugar, and 1/2c of Egg Beaters

    S: Dannon Yogurt w. 10 strawberries

    L: can of tuna on a flatout wrap with lettuce and salsa

    S: Ms Freshleys Snack Away Yogurt Creme

    D: Chicken Breast, 1/2c stove top stuffing, 1c green beans

    Dessert ( hey its saturday)! Nanas Apple Cake

    I ended the day at 1469 cals, 238 carbs, 14g fat, and 103g protein

    Snacky day... I need to eat less sugar today for sure!
