starting again!

Hi calorie counters!
I haven't posted on this section of 3FC, although I've lost my weight by calorie counting. I had a friend I was doing it with, but she's dropped out so I'm looking for another place to yap about these things. :)

I've taken a break from tracking my food and exercise the past couple weeks and I'm ready to get back into it. :) I really want to lose those last 15 pounds before summer. They say summer starts July 5th in Seattle, so that's my goal date! :carrot:

I haven't exercise the past couple weeks becauses of the advice of a physical therapist, but seeing her has not improved my leg injury (IT band) and now I have back pain also (my back was fine before going in). I have not been impressed with her treatment! Walking on the other hand, hadn't aggrevated anything before I saw her. I'm going to start walking again, although slowly and on flat surfaces. I had been seeing a sports medicine doctor who said walking was ok, but he's been on vacation the past few weeks. I see him again on Thursday and am going to give a big complaint about the physical therapy. Ok, just had to get that off my chest!

Besides walking 30 minutes every day, I want to do upper body weightlifting 3 times a week (Dr. said no squats or lunges :( ), drink 3 liters of water and stick to 1500-1800 calories a day. I'm often an incredibly unhealthy eater, so I'm also going to make it a goal to eat at least one piece of fruit a day and one serving of veggies. Gosh, I'm really excited to be getting back into the calorie counting! Ok, so that's my plan and now it's in writing. I'm excited about doing this with a group of like-minded folks. :carrot:

Hi, Theresa

Welcome,
You came to a great website to talk and learn. The people here seem to have it all together.

Sounds like you might be a the right track too. although you might want to add more veggies and fruits.

You could try http://www.fitday.com/ To keep track off your food and work outs.

I think walking is a great workout. I try to walk 6 days. and I go to curves at least 3 days.

Greetings neighbor! I live in WA State too.
At the base of Mt. Rainier
(Where it rains.)
(More than Seattle even)
(Lots more)
(Sigh)

This place IS great isn't it littlered? I lurk mostly with a few episodes of mass postings here and there.
I really have enjoyed all the advice and support here.
Theresa, good luck with the remaining weight, you've done great and I know you can make it to the end!

(I wish the weather would get warmer, I am so cold this spring!)

Hi neighbor!
I've heard it's supposed to be nice this weekend, so I'm looking forward to getting out. I've only been to Mt. Rainier once, but oh my gosh. That park is so beautiful! Thanks for the encouragement and congrats on maintaining. :)

And thanks for the warm welcome Theresa. :) I know I should eat more fruits and veggies, but I'm starting small. I'm totally a junkfood junky, so at least one a day is a big improvement. This board is great!
