Am I doing it right

Okay I decided to try and have a 1600-1700 calorie intake. I workout m-f and burn 650-900 calories a day. Am I eating enough to match my resting metobolic rate and my workouts. I have heard if you don't get enough it can hinder your weight loss. I don't want to hinder but I don't want to go over. 1600-1700 is okay for me I don't feel deprived, actually it seems just right to me but I could cut back if I needed to.

try it for 2-3 weeks and see what happens. That is the only way to know for sure.

Well, you're definitely getting a caloric deficit -- but whether its enough for optimal fat burn and not so much that your body thinks it's starving (which makes fat harder to lose and easier to regain) is something you'd have figure out on your own. So I agree with ennay's thoughts about trying it for about 2 weeks and re-evaluating.

From my guesstimation, your body burns about 1,900 calories/day just by being alive and breathing (assuming you don't have metabolic issues) -- so benchmark your caloric intake & exercise against that (and that 3,500 calories is about a pound on your body). Of course, do take into consideration other factors that may influence the weight (water levels, whether your -ahem- tom is visiting, etc.)

So if I burn 1900 and eat 1600 hundred that is a 300 deficit and the 600 I burn means I have a 900 deficit a day. Cool. That should zap the fat. Let's hope it works

There's nothing like trial and error to let you know if you are doing things "right". Just to echo what's already been said, if that doesn't get you the results you want, it's time to start tweaking a bit. Good luck.

Yes-trial and error. The only way-go for a few weeks, and if you lose 1/2-2 pounds each week, then you are doing fine. :)
