  • ...in moderation of course I really only like white( unless someone can turn me on to an incredible red) and I think it has around 110 cals for 5 ozs.
Just curious who enjoys their vino???

    azmom
  • Give me a Cabernet any time!!!!! It's my downfall and I know it (and a lot of the other calorie counters know it too!).

Last year, I gave it up from time to time and I lost weight when not drinking. Thankfully I don't gain when drinking cuz I do try to keep it moderate. But it does make it that much harder to lose.
  • Oh yes. a good cabernet is good for your heart too but only a 4 ounce glass. I limit myself to 3 glasses a week
  • I'm not a big wine drinker, but when the occasion calls for it I prefer white.
  • I love red wine. I pretty much cut it out completely when I was actively losing weight. I only had so many calories a day and I personally couldn't stand to waste 100 on empty calories. Now that I'm maintaining, I probably drink 1-2 glasses a week. I was very happy to add it back to my life!
  • I love my wine too. I think that it was a big player in 'helping me' put all my weight back on!

I try not to keep it in the house now. I save it for a treat when i go out to dinner or something like that.
  • Thanks...I really want to lose that last few stubborn pounds so I think I'll bring out the wine when I hit my goal!
  • Gosh, you've only got 4 pounds to go. Shouldn't take you long at all if you give up wine for a couple of weeks. Good luck!
  • I have been trying to lose these same 4 lbs for years. I think my body is at a set point, which I am trying hard to re-set!! I am pretty short so 4 lbs. will make a difference on me. Then the hardest part comes...maintenance!
  • I work in the wine industry so I have no choice really. But then, I did get into this business because I love wine.

I think what is important for me now is to drink in moderation. I used to feel like an openned bottle needed to be finished (usually by me--Lol.) No more, though, now I limit myself to a 4-5oz glass and I savor it for longer than I used to. I don't drink everyday anymore either. I see nothing wrong with having a glass of wine a few days a week though.
  • Wine is my downfall, too. I adore it - and my husband used to be in the business, so I got a good education. I love most reds and like buttery, oaky chardonnay...but those are kind of hard to find nowdays. I try to limit my intake to weekends, but it's not easy. It's really expensive financially (now that DH is not in the business) and calorically!
  • I like a nice red as well. But I'm cheap so it's a rare treat. As with most treat type things, I'm far better off if it's not in the house.
  • Wine is def a weakness of mine... I just love having it. I need to work on a one glass rule, even tho it never seems like enough
  • Quote: I work in the wine industry so I have no choice really. But then, I did get into this business because I love wine. .
I was just curious do you work in Northern or southern cali my husband is also in the wine business in northern cali ??

OH and by the way YEAH every night i have to have my wine
  • I managed to get through last night without a glass of wine. Didn't sleep so well after that?!? I don't have any red in the house right now and I don't like white as much, so I don't drink it. As long as I stay away from the grocery store, I may be able to make it all weekend without wine. Hopefully that will jumpstart my re-dedication to weight loss!
