Funny!
My husband came home from work today, and told me a cute story. Apparently, there is a woman in the office who must be counting calories...and she mistakenly used her calorie counting paper in the copy machine for my husband-printing whatever he needed on that piece of paper. He found her calories/food diary on the back of his paper in his office...and he thought it was pretty funny.
She had a total of around 1600 calories today, which was pretty good...but her diet consisted of: ~a Zwero candy bar ~Twizzlers ~chicken nuggets ~Dr. Pepper ~M&Ms No dairy, no fruit, no whole grains, and no veggies. Processed chicken and SUGAR. That was it...all day long. Why even bother? |
That is funny! I'm a calorie counter too, and that sure isn't what I had today. I'm working really hard to get those 5 servings of vegetables.

Some people just don't get it, do they?
|
She must be trying to beat the system

I know you can't judge anyone's diet by one day, but just reading it made me queasy. I've never been able to tolerate sweet or even very starchy food for breakfast - even as a teen if I had a donut for breakfast I would regret it within 10 minutes - so just the idea of candy for breakfast makes me nauseous. Blech!

sounds healthy, better give it a try myself

Hey, people have to start somewhere! ;)
Hopefully she'll realize after a couple days that she's not feeling so great eating that kind of food, and possibly start adding good stuff into her diet. More likely is she'll realize she's not feeling so great after eating that kind of food and go off the diet completely, but you never know... |
I don't know that that is so much funny, more like sad. That could have been me when I was in my early twenties. She probably doesn't know any better. She knows to restrict her calories and that is what she is doing. After a few weeks of eating like this, she'll realize she is tired and not feeling well. She will probably quit dieting and go back to her normal eating. I wish there was a way that someone could help her out.
|
I think the important here is that she is trying to make a change and everyone starts somewhere. I would rather commend someone actually trying to do something good for themselves (like lose weight) than laugh at them for having such a bad list of foods while they are trying to count calories. Just my $0.02.

 Oops, sorry.

This was a lighthearted thread-let's keep it that way. ;)
Besides-the reason I posted it, was because there was not ONE even remotely healthy item the entire day...that is what I thought was funny about it-they weren't trying. It's like eating 1600 calories of gummy bears...or 1600 calories in beer. A 5 year old knows that isn't good... |
