Zig Zag of Calories ?

Hello!!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It is amazing how long it takes to prepare for Christmas and then it is over in 5 mins. :dizzy:

I have noticed some people talking about cal. intake being different daily. Can someone share this info with me. I have seen it before in detail how it works, but I can't find it now.
Thanks!!

I swear by the zig zag method. It's the only way to do this without feeling like quitting.

You figure out your caloric intake needs for the DAY, multiply by SEVEN, and that is your total caloric intake for the week.

One day you can go over the daily limit, the next day you go below the daily limit, and it's all okay because at the end of the seven days, you stayed within your range.

If I know it's my monthly dinner date with my girlfriend at the super chic restaurant in town, I will zig zag the day before and the day after because on Girlfriend At The Chic Restaurant Day, I am going to have those three glasses of wine and that scrumptious cheesecake!

So that's how it works!

It's fabulous!

I've also heard that it keeps your metabolisim from getting stagnant and that by mixing it up a bit you don't hit a plateau. For me zig zaging just makes sense because I don't want to eat the same exact foods every single day. Some days I eat a little more, some days a little less.

Thank you all very much!! I will try this and see how it goes.
Have a nice day!

One more question...

How much do you go over and under? Say my cal. intake is 1600 a day. If I want to go over today, how much am I allowed to go over? Same for going under? Hope this makes sense!

Melissa,
You would get 1600 X 7, 11,200 cals for the week. So if you want 3000 today, cut back 1400 cals over the next 6 days. I hope this helps. I think it may be better to save for your "special day" first and then eat the extra cals. That works better for me. I feel that I may not get around to cutting back, so I prepare first.
