  • Hi everyone,

I have lost 90 lbs and decided 6 months ago to go ahead and have surgery... a 'Mommy Makeover' of sorts. Not matter how much I worked out (6 days a week for 2 hours a day), there was nothing I could do about the stretched out skin.

I had a lower body lift plus breast implants.

The pictures are taken a few days ago at 3 weeks post surgery so I am really swollen and that will last for some time but it gives you an idea of the change.

Thank you to Jen for the inspiration to do this!

ETA: I weigh the same in all the pics... 150 lbs

  • Amazing results! Wow...this gives me so much hope for the type of results I can acheive even if I am left with a lot of loose skin.
  • You look fab, very impressive! Hope you're pleased with the results
  • You look great!!!

    Thank you!

I wanted to share because the before/after pictures of others is what gave me the courage to follow through with the surgery. Some people are lucky (coupled with good genetics) in the weight loss process and don't end up with a lot of excess skin, I was not one of them and was left feeling very deflated that all of my hard work was for nothing. I wanted to look like how I felt... strong & healthy. The doctor repaired my separated ab muscles (4 inches) and an umbilical hernia at the same time.
  • Wow that gets me excited to have mine done when I get there cause I have a feeling I'll need one
  • thank you for sharing! I still have a long way to go before I am at full goal, but it's nice to know if I do have a lot of excess skin, I have options. you look awesome, and congrats on you weight loss!
  • Thank you everyone!
  • Wow! You look great! We could almost be twins in your before pics. I have mostly convinced myself I don't want surgery, but I'm waiting until I'm a year out before deciding for sure.
  • I look like your "before" picture -- and our height and weight is really similar -- so I find your pictures particularly fascinating.

Damn, you look good. Like, really, really good.

I know I'm not going to be able to stop thinking about this. I had pretty much decided that I'd never undergo surgery, but these pictures ...

Again, congratulations for your hard work & also for your braving the surgery and getting through what must have been considerable discomfort afterward.

Yes, Jen is inspiring, isn't she?
  • (One thing, though, Mom3LoveBugs. Your breasts are freaking me out a little. It's not that they're not shapely. It's that, with the censoring, which I understand of course must occur on a G-rated public forum, they look kinda like when people get red-eye from flashbulbs. Your poor nips must be seeing stars!!! ;-)

Good plan! I have was hovering between 150-155 lbs for 10 months before I did my surgery. I NEVER wanted surgery before losing weight but the more I lost, the more obvious it became that the skin wasn't going away on it's own.

I understand how you feel. I was the type of person who always considered cosmetic surgery as something I was not interested in nor thought it was personally necessary. That was before I lost the weight though. After I had my first consultation with my surgeon, he worded it as reconstructive surgery opposed to cosmetic.... that shifted my mind set and made me realize that what I was doing was necessary FOR ME.

Yes, Jen is very inspiring! I have a cousin who has lost 250 lbs now and will be having a lower body lift in the next few months too. I stayed with her to recover after my surgery so it gave her a really good idea on what to expect.

lol... too funny about my boobs!

I *could* have benefited from a breast lift but my doctor had reassured me I would be happy without one (he also could not do the lift coupled with the lower body lift as it would make the surgery too long). I am not interested in having any more surgeries so it is what it is and nothing a good bra can't fix. I just wanted some volume back!
  • You look wonderful! What made you choose to go the lower body lift route vs just a tummy tuck? And do you mind if I ask how much for everything? You can PM me if you're not comfortable sharing. I'm looking at having the same surgeries next summer.

Edited to add: Also maybe the name of your surgeon? I'm in WA state and for results like that I would not blink at travelling north, lol.
  • You LOOK amazing! I bet you FEEL amazing, too!

I got the upper half done, and have been so happy with the results. Your surgeon is awesome!
