Shoe size?
.........
It was for me. I went from a size 8 to a size 6 shoe. It's GREAT! Size 6's are easy to find in stores!
I went from an 11W to a 9.5 standard width. It can be done!
I went from an 8.5 to an 8 by losing 44 pounds.
I lost half size, from 9 to 8.5.
I have definitely gone down in size since I've lost the weight I have. I've gone from a 9 to an 8.5 :)
9w to 8 or 8 1/2 regular or wide depending on shoe style
Wow, really?? Now I'm trying to remember what shoe size I was in H.S. since that is my dream goal.
I was actually thrilled that weight gain had me in a near medium shoe! Now I'm back to one foot being a AAA and the other a AAAA.
These gunboats were meant for a much slimmer person! :D I like my narrow feet, don't get me wrong. My feet and size 4.5 fingers have always been my favorite body parts. HOWEVER, have you ever tried to find a AAAA shoe? |
I've gone from an 8.5 to an 8 in 30lbs but I don't think it'll go any further as I wore an 8 when I was super skinny. Good luck in your search for shrinking feet!
Omg! I'm a size 2-3, uk size. I hope mine don't shrink! They'll disappear! I'm shocked I could balance on them at my largest tbh!
Oh gosh I would love to lose a size or two in my feet! I wear a 10 now. Do you know how hard it is to find cute size 10 shoes on a clearance rack?!
I hadn't even thought about losing a shoe size or two! :cp:
It can be hard to find even non-cute non-clearance size 10/11 shoes that fit!! :D I've been looking for a pair of nude pumps for FOREVER. I found the exact perfect pair at an AnnTaylor yesterday. When I asked if they came in larger sizes, the sales girl says "Oh for sure, they go ALL the way up to like a 9 and a half!!" boo! |

I mentioned this to someone at work, because my other friend at work went down to a size 6 from a 8 when she lost a lot of weight, and he used to work at a shoe store and he knew why.
He said that because we have less weight on us pressing down on our feet, the natural arch of the foot comes back, thus shrinking the foot. The heavier we are, the more spread out it becomes. I've lost almost 40 lbs and I haven't really bought shoes in a while but at my heighest weight I was inching up to a 9 and a half. Now I could wear an 8 I would think, some of the 8 and a half's I have are getting loose and floppy on my feet (I lost a shoe that was a 9 as I was running for the skytrain! Had to go back and get it haha) |
It explains why I jumped up some sizes as I gained weight. I didn't understand how my feet could grow so fast haha.
My width changed, but not my actual shoe size.
Im still 8.5/9, but shoes just fit better and I dont need wide width. Strappy shoes actually fit too, ankles used to be too big for that. High heels are also *much* more comfy! |
Before I started eating less and working out, I bought a super cute pair of shoes on clearance last spring, intending on wearing them this fall. They fit, but were snug. I put them on one morning last week, and walked out of them. I've lost 41 pounds, and I've definitely gone done a 1/2 size or so.
It happened for me as well, at my heaviest I used to wear size 10 (US women's size), and now I wear a 9.5 sometimes 9 depending on the type of shoes.
I went from a size 9 wide to a regular size 8, after a 50 lb. weight loss. My feet look less like Fred Flintstone's now. LOL
I wish I could go down a size. I used to be an 8 in uk sizing (maybe 10 US?) That was right at the top of normal women's sizing here so there was less availability for styles, but I could find some in most shops. Now I seem to be a 9 mostly, although with some trainers or boots I can manage an 8. I think the arches got flatter, whether through being heavier in the past or with middle age and the process hasn't reversed now that I've lost weight.
My feet have gone from a size 10-11 to a 9.
I was a size 10.5-11 shoe...and now I'm a size 10.5-11 shoe. Sigh... 10 is too small and you can only rarely find 10.5, so mostly it is size 11.

Coach makes almost every shoe in a 10.5 - I often get them on eBay. Getting Coach shoes cheap is one time when it pays to have ridiculously huge feet!!!!! |
I was an 8 when I was thin before. I went up to a 9-9.5, and now I'm back down to an 8.5-9.

I went down a shoe size but I didn't even realize it LOL. I tried on a pair of shoes in a rush and they were a little lose but I figured they would fit with a thicker sock. I tried them on at home and they just fell off my feet. That's what I guess for shopping in a rush. They were non refundable too, darn :)
I went from a 9W to a regular 8 or 8.5. It is great not having to pay extra for a wide width. |
If it changes for me, I'll be in trouble! I already have small feet! I wear a size 2-3, but can wear a 5 if I really need to and have thick socks lol.
Yup! I started in a tight 10.5 and now I have some 9's that fit. I was just noticing the other day that my toes used to be chubby and completely touch... now there is space between them! Crazy.
