I always knew that I should be tiny, I mean I am only 5 feet tall. But I had no idea I would be THIS tiny. But tiny in ways that I wasn't in the past. I always thought I had a big butt and hips and bust. But lo and behold I'm now left with none of those. My shoulders are fairly broad though for my size. They really stick out. And I do have VERY protruding collar bones. It's so weird, now that I'm "talking" about it. My body has changed SOOO drastically.
The only thing that has remained big on me, very sadly - are my calves and yes, my feet are still wider then normal. :( I too have those underarm caves. Would someone PLEASE tell me what that's all about? I mean people who have always been thin don't have them. Why do I and some of you guys have them? Anyone have a clue? |
I've always attributed my underarm caves to 1. building muscle, and 2. losing fat. When we lose body fat, the anatomical structure underneath is revealed instead of being filled in and smoothed out with fat (like your collar bones!) I thought that naturally thin people had the caves? Who can we ask?? :D

My "caves" are so inverted that I have EXTREME difficulty shaving. I mean, I just can't get in there. It's bizarre. One time last summer, I actually asked one of my daugthers to help me. I need to kind of spread my underarm out to get it flat-ish. :dizzy: |
I have the same problem but I attributed it to muscle I have large pecs and rear delts and low body fat. Younger girls may be slender, but most have very little muscle. My 25 yr old daughter has them too. She has never been overweight, but also lifts weights.

I have them too.
I was just looking at my knees today and thinking 'what is going on here?' They are starting to look odd :) |

I've always had caves. I think it is the muscles pulling it in. I've always been fat, but underneath the fat there is a grain fed, hay haulin' poop shovelin' buff farm girl!
losing weight is creepy for me because ever few weeks I notice a new muscle. I was reaching for a cup the other day on my tip toes and my husband yells "woah! what did you do to your legs?" I thought I cut myself of had mud on me but no, he was referring to my newly reveled scary-@$$ butt-kicking calf muscles :D I've found that I have really really scary muscley things on back that are getting ready to show with a vengeance. I can't wait :D |
I was really skinny in high school but never thought much about my frame size. I would have to say i am either small or medium frame. I've always thought of myself as medium frame because i always figured small frame was reserved for the short girls. But i do have and always had small wrist and fingers. Even after gaining nearly 100 pounds, i still wore a size 5 ring and had small wrist and small neck. My bf is always talking about my small, girlie hands. He said out of all of his past gf's...i have the most feminine hands. I take that as a compliment!! lol. I would love to see if i really have a small frame or medium frame. I just gotta drop these last 10-15 pounds of fat covering them.

My husband told me he always thought of me as a "big woman". I guess he meant large frame, heroic proportions, etc. He was shocked to find out I'm actually a small framed person with small bones and features. Also, people have told me I look taller now - guess it's because I'm not so wide that I look kind of squarish, as I did!
I knew this about myself, since I was thin and fit as a teenager, but I guess I'd kind of adopted the "larger woman" label as my identity and forgotten all about it, until the new me emerged. I noticed that underarm thing, too. Who would have anticipated that? |
I always assumed I was a small frame because I am short. Now it turns out I am likely medium to large, wrist measurement is easier now that my wrists aren't fat!
DH was poking at my hip bones the other night. You know how when you lie down, they are exposed more? He said - "is this normal, the bones seem so pronounced - and you want to lose more weight?" With that said, I actually look much more petite without the padding LOL! I am curious as to what the last 20 pounds will bring. |
Can I just say I love reading the threads on here! I always get those lightbulb moments and sit here going 'oooohhhh!!!'
I have the arm thing going on! I doubt its muscle (who knows) but it's good to know others wonder what the heck is going on too! Still got big calves though :( Knee high boots shall never be my friend I fear. Maybe it's the running:?: |
I still have big calves too. :( They're way out of proportion with the rest of my body, but fortunately I can hide them with pants. For me, it's fat, not muscle, though there is muscle under there. It's just the last place in my body that collects fat and doesn't want to let it go. Like we always say, we can't spot reduce.
I think there are several of us here with the Big Calves problem? |
