Stepping Out 01-12-2006 06:47 PM

I guess it's unanimous..

I'm rooting for the REDTEAM!

Did you see the look on Steve's face when he saw what Sarah had lost? He was obviously very proud of her. Rasha's attitude seems to be more "I want to look like a Princess for MY wedding"...Sarah's attitude is "I want to be fit and healthy for my husband and our future children". I hope the Red Team wins it all!

I haven't watched the "special edition" shows (I see my trainer on Weds evenings and try and get to bed by 9 anyway) but I have looked at the recaps on the NBC site.

It DOES seem like a lot of weight to lose, but factors to keep in mind - like you said the controlled environment has a LOT to do with it; also the motivation of being in what is essentially a competition. Another factor is that I get the impression that these folks have not exactly been active in the past, or its been a LOOONG time since they have been active - so they're going to get that 'jump start' effect pretty quickly - and remember a lot of what they're losing, too, is water weight, ya know.

I just flashed on when I was 16 and spent the summer at a weight-loss camp in SoCal...the first week pretty much EVERYONE had huge weight losses - the heaviest girl there weighed over 250 and was 5'10" and as I recall lost about 15 lbs or more the first week (this was in 1979 so I don't remember the exact details but it was a LOT) and while we were working out quite a bit, we weren't being pushed NEARLY as hard as the contestants are being pushed in the show...

Star...I live in Royal Oak.
Thanks...df & I were engaged on Xmas eve....& I love my ring (but it was only $4000 so Miss Blue probably won't want it!)

Star 01-13-2006 08:47 AM

Soon2befab,
Well congrats, yeah your right Miss Blue probably wants something BIGGER...
without paying for it....lol
I live in Washington and work in Clinton Twp.....
I saw 6 motorcycles on the road yesterday, it was nice out, but not that nice....

i think sarah is absolutely adorable! i'm sure the blue chick is too, but her personality/attitude just ruins everything.

LosinSteady 01-18-2006 07:41 PM

I definitely plan on tuning in, but Im confused.

is sarah the dark haired woman or the light haired woman ?

hottierockstar 01-18-2006 08:13 PM

dark haired, on the red team :)

hottierockstar 01-18-2006 09:08 PM

the ranch

"The ranch" is about 12-15 miles from my house. I am planning on riding up there soon just to check it out.
I just watched some of the video clips on nbc.com and it reminded me that those are "my" mountains :D
The clips made me like the blue team even less, we'll see how i feel after tonight's episode :)

Dalotajr 01-18-2006 10:02 PM

WOW...the red team really lost some weight. Watching helps me stay motivated. :strong:

Jen415 01-18-2006 10:04 PM

YAY for Steve and Sarah!! Watching Sarah has really motivated me to get off my a$$ and get busy!

BethC 01-19-2006 08:01 AM

Wow, that was a great show last night! You can really see what can be accomplished in 6 months - they finally told us how long between the ranch and final weigh-in.

Sarah lost 73lbs in 6 1/2 months, w/a total lifestyle change. It's very motivating!
