angel-eyes - how is your dog?
ledom - I'm pretty danged excited for the premier tomorrow night! It is a little disconcerting to have to scroll down the page in OUR forum. Well...it was ours for a long time.
nikkii - is your voice better?
Where's that Twinklegirl?
I've been kinda off schedule this week, my dad went to his brother's widow's 90th birthday party in Phoenix. There is an elder care provider staying with my Mom - but I felt better going over there to make noise. I think she was glad I came. Dad will be back tomorrow - so my schedule should get back to normal.

Thanks for asking Chick.......she is okay. It was the weirdest thing!!! Shortly after writing that post about the her, she was coaxed inside and although very quiet and subdued for the morning; was her normal self for the rest of the day. She was never very far from me and I took her for a nice long walk about 2pm and she was great. I hope that it was a one time deal. If it had continued longer, no doubt about it.....I would have taken her to the vets for sure.
wooohoooo....TBL is on tonight!!! I'm going to have to tape it as ds has a soccer practice that isn't over until 7:30pm. I started posting on the challenge thread to get my mojo up and running and kick it into another gear. Wish I was still at the 40 lb loss mark, but I'm not so I'm ready to get that metabolism and butt of mine back on plan!!!!
ledom.....great job on the hiking!! What a natural way to get your cardio going. I applaud you on your 'outdoors workouts'......I would love to get more into those kind of things.

Man - I missed it. My friend from Oregon called, the one call I always accept. So I missed the first episode - guess someone will post details here. Did get my workout in this a.m. and ate perfectly clean today.

ledom....I hope you can catch some updates for the show. Basically they changed the format somewhat with contestants from 50 states. They had a full workout with everyone and then Bob and Kim (new trainer to replace Jillian) zip lined in and then chose 7 members for each of their teams. The rest of the state contestants go home with gym trainers, nutritionists and health seminars to lose the weight by themselves and the one who loses the most (% and weight) can then come back at the end of the show. The blue and red teams then weigh in, workout, have a challenge, then 1 week later decide which team is the weekly winner to vote someone off. This is it in a nutshell as it was a 2 hr start to the season. You might be able to get more info off of the nbc home page.

I thought is was a good start, the product placement stuff is a little annoying...gosh I wonder why Kim is recommending Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal so highly? It will be interesting to see how the people at home do. I was also quite impressed by the Minnesota chick who lost 60 pounds after she left the ranch...
I also worry a little that they are emphasizing the "No Pain, No Gain" idea (the contestants look like they are almost killing themselves with every workout)...I really think that building habits that last a lifetime is NOT done this way. But it's more dramatic....
We'll see if Kim is really tough...she talks about it a lot...I know she isn't Jillian, but I miss Jillian. I did like the zip line entrance tho..

Chick....yeah, I noticed that too about the products. In prev. seasons, I think the box was on the counter for you to notice but this time....she's holding it up and doing a public service announcement abou it!!! LOL
I haven't tried it but the protein/fibre sounds good. I usually have oatmeal that I make on the stove.(much more economical too I might add )
nikki.....I think they alternate taping of the shows, a little while back they were taping your show (Australia) as another poster here on 3FC was in the running but didn't make it to the final cut. That would have been Jillian's final show. TBL is the new American Idol....its going world wide!!!
Got my workout in for today and foods been OP!!! Funny how just how much more mentally I am prepared (since signing on with the loser challenge) and its such a black/white thing about food. (meaning no grey areas as to the food I should be eating) My food has been FANTASTIC!!!

Hey girls!
I know i've been a little absent this week, it's been a rough week for me! I'm just not feeling the program totally. I focused on cardio this week, but life got in the way last weekend so my food was pretty bad. I just gotta get my head back in the game!
Hope you're all doing good, although i'm sure you are!
I'll try to check back in a few days, but i'm running late right now, just wanted to stop by and say, hi.
Nikki- Hopefully they'll show TBL here soon. I watched a few minutes of it over the internet, and it looks awesome, even without Jillian!

Yes, series one here with jillian was great and filming willbegin for the second series that i applied for in november. But it would be good to see the american versions here....
I watch the video shops all the time to see if they collate each series on dvd to re watch....
I watched a video clip on Kim Lyons...and she seemed a little arogant in it, in her approach, in a kind of nasty way to why so many people are fat...and BOB looked very uneasy with how she came across ...nervous face, not looking at her with much emotion, and when he started talking he just glowed with enthusiasim... i dont know, maybe cause i love jillians no nonsense but supportive attitude...i think i will have to wait and see when i see kim on the TBL.....
I went fishing today and couldnt find my friends on the beach and ended up walking 10km in sand,,,gosh i was stuffed....
But finished it off with a nice BBQ at the park with friends and my dog chloe...
Kids are having a sleep over so hopefully they will sleep well tonight and sleep in in the morning......
Good night girls.....chat to you soon

Hi Jillian's Girls!!
ledom - how's tricks, girl?
nikkii - 10 k in the sand? Woo hoo, you go, girl. That will build some serious leg muscles.
angel-eyes - IMHO the instant oatmeal is ok if you are in a hurry, but the real stuff is much better for you. And not that hard to cook. I toss in some protein powder, apple and some splenda... 3 minutes in the micro.
twinklegirl - at least you are keeping up on the cardio, hang in there girl!
I had a hard time making myself work out today, dunno why. I think I'll go for a bike ride later, at least I'll get some cardio in. Could be the BBQ binge last night, my body is prolly thinking WTF? Tomorrow is back day, that always cheers me up

Hey girls!!!
I've been very proud of my eating lately.....very 'aware' of my eating and what I'm eating. No more mindless opening of the pantry door for me!!! Yesterday we were out for the day with soccer games and had a break of 45 minutes for lunch. We drove and parked in the McDonalds but I told the guys to go ahead to McD's....I was walking next door to Subway!! woohooo, actually we all then decided to go. Couldn't bear having greasy burgers sitting in my tummy!!! I don't even like McD's (save for their salads)
Chick.....Happy for back day? you're starting to freak me out!!! I can't say I've made oatmeal in the microwave before. I'm a cinn raisin girl. There is a coupon for $1 off the weight management oatmeal.....is it worth a purchase?
Nikki....ah the beach!!! sounds like a GREAT workout!! I think this is the first time you've mentioned the kids. How many do you have?
twinkle....nice to see you again!!! It'll work out.....sorry to hear about the food stuff, but at least you did the cardio portion so it prolly cancelled each other out. (good news!!) could have been ALOT worse. Hang in there!!
ledom.....How you been? Miss your posts and hope everything is okay.

Thanks for asking girls. I am here, just not doing to great on the program. I took the week off exercise - just felt like I needed a rest. I have fallen into a bad weekend habit too of overeating at least one of the two days. It has really gotten a little scary. I am trying to get my head back in the right place. I hate to make any promises or statements about how I am ready to get back with it, but I am. I know I am going to have a rough couple of days "shrinking " my stomach back. On my side is the fact that I have cooked up a fridge full of healthy choices and have rid the house of anything that would be tempting. I hope to get all my workouts in and drink a lot of water this week. There is a head thing going on here, my motivation for my summer vacation is no longer there and I am having to dig deep to get ahold of the motivation that will carry me through to my goals.

This morning's bicycle ride was a trip....DH came along, he has never had a weight problem and has a pretty physical job. Consequently he is in pretty good shape...this morning I kicked his (!) on the bike trail. Given he had a one speed bike and mine was 7 speed...but this has NEVER happened before. I told him we should ride every week....he had such a look on his face.
angel-eyes - dunno why but I have always liked back day better than front day.... Could it be the back needs wayyy more work than the front? I like Subway, too!! Good for you!
ledom...just keep on trucking, you will get there. I know it's frustrating, but the other option (which is giving up) is not really an option. Getting of all the wrong foods is the way to go, one day at a time....you have come so far already!!
