Today was my rest day, but I ending up doing 30 mins of cardio, which was ok, until I was getting tired.. but I made it.

Yesterday was day 5 of week 2...today is cardio. Cardio is easy....

Ledom - I'm a weenie, too with the jumping jacks and the jump rope. Part of my problem is that I can't find a good place in the gym to do them. I feel like I'm in the way wherever I go...so I just do extra cardio after.

Emma - I think you said you're doing this program at home, right? If you are, I was wondering what kind of modifications you are using? For example, I'm starting tomorrow and I need to do leg extensions. I was thinking maybe sitting on the couch and lifting a weight with my legs? I'm actually more worried about the cable pulls/lat pulldowns for tomorrow. I'd love any tips. Thanks! :)

hi girls

happydaisy - i do the workout at home also. for the leg extensions i did just sit on a chair and lean back slightly and extend my legs in front of me to hip level. it works!

for the pull downs - as i haven't a pull down machine at home - i simply did the move (without weights) while standing. I belive it did work as i could feel it in my upper back. i just contracted all my muscles on the pull down which while it was not the full move with weight, still had an effect.

Jillian recommended exercise bands to me for the back exercises. It is the pull down (and how hard you have to pull down) that gives you the benefit. Mocking the movement will do nothing.

OK - today I started week three workouts....mountain climbers :censored: ....ok let's just say I felt like the gym floor was shaking....I wussed out. :o I added extra cardio at the end. The rest of it was ok - it's getting easier - but I always feel challenged (to say the least). I forgot my HRM in the locker and I'm thinking maybe I was too focused on it. I might try just pushing myself as much as I can instead of feeling like I'm failing because I'm not over 70% most of the time. Maybe it's cause I keep wussing out on the cardio stuff (jumping jacks and mountain clibers) she sneaks in there.

Today was day 2 of week 3....I did more of the cardio stuff (jumping jacks & butt kicks) this time - can't say I lasted the whole minute...gotta work on that. This time I went to the women's only gym. It's comfier there....but really crowded on weekdays. Whew, I'm ready for a rest day. Washed the car and walked the dog for 40 minutes, too.

Still keeping up on my running as I am still at the beginning of Jillian's book. I don't get much time to read with a almost 4 year old in the house. Anyway, I ran around 5K with my running club this morning :carrot:

I did week 4, day 1 today. I restarted this week. I really pushed myself and did a total of one hour.

I'm glad to see others moving and grooving here. Makes me happy. :)

Hi.
I did (re-did) week 1 day 1 since I was sick all last week. So far so good. I also did 30 minutes of treadmill (incline 4.5, speed 3.7) but didn't want to over do my first day back. Still coughing/hacking to get rid of a tickle, but I wasn't out of breath.

Ok, week 3 Monday's work out. Can I just reiterate that I abhore the moutain climbers.. ?? I was cussing Jillian out the whole time and I literally dripped with sweat. Oh yuck.

Done and done. 58 min completed.

I also walked 2 miles today earlier in the day.

I am restarting week 2 all over, I slacked last week, and I havent worked out since friday,, I have been sick and so has my daughter, it has been rough. CONGRATS on everyone that is sticking to it!!

Week 4, Day 2 of Jillian's program. 40 minutes of that was just circuit training, which was odd, but I took longer cardio breaks to keep HR up so that may be why. Total was 63 minutes. :woo:

Hi Jillian Girls-

Ok i am on week 2 day 2. But i just found out that my gym will be closed next thrusday and friday. Would it be bad instead of moving next week on to week 3 that i just did week 2 over again. I mean alot of week 1 and 2 i could do at home, except for a couple the exercises.

Any input?

I am really enjoying the program and want to stick with it. And like others said this week is a lot easier and i am not so sore like last week. This is going to pay off ;) :dizzy:

Hi Blondevt.....

Alot of us are repeating a previous week for a variety of reasons. Thats too bad about your gym. I would re-do what you can do at home and not waste the time off.

Week 2 day 2 re-do......I also did 30 minutes of the treadmill. (incline5,speed 3.7) Boy am I sore today......my butt is so tender from doing those lunges.

no exercise for me so far this week.

i had monday off due to a headache and just slept at home for most of the day. tuesday went to work initally and then went home and slept again. went to see the chiropractor who adjusted me and i felt better. had to take my puppy to the vet who has now been diagnosed with a luxating patella (loose knee joint) which may require surgery. this is only a small portion of what is going on in my life. i truly and honestly feel that the universe is against me.

i still have a bit of a headache today, but will wait out the day and see how i go and hopefully get some exercise in tonight. it should be my rest day but will do day 1 of the circuit and some yoga tonight. i think the yoga will help me release all of this stress in my life - can't hurt to try.

need a hug guys :(

I read on MSN about a workout I want to accomplish after I master Jillian's. It's the fit test that Army Rangers have to pass. You have to do 80 pushups in under 2 minutes, 80 situps in under 2 minutes, run 2 miles in under 13 minutes and do 12 chinups. Right now I know there is no way I could even approach it. So that's more motivation to do Jillian's kick butt workouts. ;)

TOday was my day off, but,... I made it into the gym for some kind of cardio and push ups, squats.. which I love all of a sudden!! Maybe because I have no butt, and I am FINALLY getting one for the fisrt time in my life! hahah ~HUGS DAISY BOO, dont worry you can do it... Just relax take a day off and get back into teh swing of things....

Justforus: I have a flat butt, which I consider NO butt. When I started exercising I noticed that I actually had a butt for the first time too!! I SO get that!

Emma, I think I said it in the other thread, I hope they are able to 'fit' you in to their schedule..LOL I love getting my hair done!

Week 3 day two (Tuesdays work out). Yesterday I had off.

They do look a little foolish, but they really get my heart rate up. Anyway, I don't go to the gym to look smart. I go to the gym to look "GOOD" :carrot:

Okay, well I still did them when I worked out, I just think that while I do them I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Check them in the mirror if you have one in your gym or at home. The trick with them is to lean forward a little. Almost like you trying to stick you chest out a little.

Hey - I'll have to try that - I haven't actually been able to kick my own butt yet. I really have tried. :cry: I like the "I go to the gym to look "GOOD" attitude. Yay Rockergirl...

Daisyboo - hang in there girl...hope you are feeling better!

I had a crazy couple of days at work - but I managed to get through days 4 & 5 of week 3. I upped the weights and started keeping track of the wieghts. Hopefully I 'll be able to keep upping the weights and the log will be a motivator. :carrot: Cardio tomorrow... :cb:

Let's move it ladies!!!! You all are doing great! Bob said something to Andrea on BL last night that really hit home for me...he told her (after she ate a bunch of bite size brownies) "You are special. You may not believe it right not - but I do, so you'll just have to trust me until you do believe it yourself."
I'm paraphrasing...so sorry if I didn't get it exactly...but I was really touched by it.

59 minutes (one short, but bathroom duty called) of Week 4, Day 3 of Jillian's circuit training and treadmill intervals. :)
