Thanks for the congrats everyone. I'm so excited. This program is actually working for me and I'm so excited. My macros were exactly where they should have been last week. I've eaten clean and haven't missed it workout. I think it is all about consistency. I just did Cathe Friedrich's Step Blast workout (first 2 combos) and then did Bob's Biggest Loser High Intensity workout for 63 minutes of cardio today. It felt good and my heart rate was where it needed to be the whole time (80-85%). Jillian really knows her stuff.

SmartButt- Don't let your sister get you discouraged. If she isn't doing weights, no wonder she still has flabby arms. Weights will help keep you toned and build muscle. I have lots of friends who had bat wings and when they did Body for Life (which is weights and cardio intervals) their arms toned right up and they are sporting guns on them now. Prove her wrong. Her comments would give me the drive to lift weights and show her that she is wrong.

angel-eyes- That is cool that you got to observe DH and learn more at the gym. Nice of his trainer to let you do that.

chick-in-the-hat- Wow! You are almost done with Jillian's rotation. What are you going to do next? Are you going to incorporate the DVDs into a rotation now. I've got the DVDs too and was thinking of doing that when I get done with my 12-weeks.

ledmom- I completely understand what you mean about the easier/harder. LOL

Have a great day everyone and make it a good workout too!

Just did a kicka$$ hike. 8 miles, small hills, kind of a very fast walk/jog. I was running late for my afternoon appt. so I had to really kick it. A good thing to start the week. I think my belly is disappearing. I don't know, haven't taken measurements but it just kinda looks and feels smaller.

smartbutt - bless our hearts on those tickers and getting them situated after christmas. I am still smarting over some of the decisions I made during the holidays. You are being way honest and the fact that you are 2 lb. down from last week is exceptional.

ledom - you go, girl!!! Our resident trail blazer!!

shaunarae - I got the DVD's for when I can't got to the gym...I'm planning on putting together new circuits myself after the 12 weeks are up. That's kinda what I like about Jillian's book - she gives you the tools and the info to do it yourself.

smartbutt- I'm going to pretend that's just his fly doing that....honestly - I forgot about it until I watched it... You will prove your sister wrong - I'm getting more definition in my arms....I still have to lose the fat on top - but it's there.

angel-eyes - isn't it great when you realize how far you have come already?

I did day 2 of week 12 today...I got to the gym early today...it's so nice not to be trying to find a space to do what you need to do...I still like back day better than front day...but I think I broke my butt... So ready for a rest day tomorrow!

Default woo!

I just got done with jillian's "back" workout video, and I managed to do all 30 mins of it! Well, at least, I lasted through 30 mins of exercise - I definitely tone down what she does. I always have shin splints for some reason, even though I warm up and stretch out and don't land on my feet wrong. I've always had crappy shins, I am hoping the muscles build up soon so I don't worry about it anymore. When Jillian is doing anything high-impact on the legs (high knee lift-jogging in place stuff, etc) I just hopped on my elliptical to keep my heart rate up. I try to do as much as I can of the high-impact stuff, but this is a nice alternative for when the shins just kill me.

I can tell, just in the short time I've been "serious" about exercising, that I'm slowly building up more tolerance. I was actually shocked when Jillian said "ok, that's it, we're done, let's cool down and stretch out". Woohoo!

I got through Week 1 Day 1, yeah I know again, today, and now I have a pinched nerve. Owee

Any way, I'm getting stronger cause I managed 15 dips in a row without a rest.

Kathy

Day 2 tomorrow

Default Day One!!

Hello Ladies!!
Just checking in with everyone. Today I officially started doing Jillians DVD's - I did her front DVD today - BOY, you were all so NOT JOKING about how challenging they are. I am happy to say that I did manage to LAST until the end and really pushed myself for another 15 minutes on my Gazelle.

Let's just say that I will definately be sleeping through the night - I love that kind of sleep - unlike my usual light sleeping.

As for you ladies here - you all inspire me - your successes, your truimphs despite opposition or discouragment, and your determination make me want to be better - FOR ME, for once. I thank you all, and applaud you all.
I definately will be checking in with you all tommorrow - I'll let you know how really sore I am. LOL

Go tyneebutt that's great that you got started - officially.

I am getting some good results. It seems to take forever but today I had to keep yanking my pants up because they were falling off. And, I have lost half an inch from each calf. My calf measurement is the only measurement that I feel confident that I get correct cause it isn't squishy.

Yay ledom!!! I would love that feeling, of having to yank my pants so they don't fall down on me!! LOL What an awesome feeling, I guess a new outfit would be in order for you Congrats

I did my BACK workout today, and boy it was tough. You know what really screwed me up was the stepups with punches - not sure of the name. Man, I do have two left feet LOL!! I made sure to tag on another 15mins of cardio before doing the cooldown and stretches. I am looking forward to rest day tommorrow, but do you guys think it would be okay to do some yoga? - it relaxes me and really stretches me out, it isn't the Power Yoga kind. Please let me know because I know I am going to really need some deep relaxation and stretching tommorrow for sure.

Hope you all are having a great day!!

bbbabe- I think it's great that you are feeling good. I might look at 2 oz as not so much that I lost a lot - but that I didn't gain...keep plugging away at it, you'll get there!!

I did Thursday of week 12 today...it felt good, but I was late escaping work and the gym was too crowded... I don't know at the moment if I will be able to slide in a workout tomorrow - I've got tons to do to get ready for this trip...just thought I'd peek in. I'm going to do the DVD's while I'm in Mexico...I'll let y'all know what I think..

me again - week 11/day 1 complete. I liked today! 2 sets instead of 3 made me feel like I could do anything. Also, much shorter, just under an hour. Last 2 weeks sometime took 1 1/2 hr. for me. Great to have something shorter my first week back at work. Ciao! Oh yeah, don't forget BL tonight!!!
