Hi everyone. I am on vacation and thought I would have more wireless spots I could access on, so this is my post for the week and I weighed in just in case. Everyone have a great week!
|
Welcome to another Friday!
Hope you've had a great week. Keep up the excellent work. Continue to make positive choices that will help you towards your goals & drink your water! |
Hooray Mel for 2 years maintenance! :yay::yay::yay: I look forward to the day I can say that.
I'm still trying to get rid of last weeks 1.5 pound gain - almost there as of today. It's not coming off quick like it's water, and I KNOW I didn't overeat 1.5 pounds worth. So it's either muscle or starvation mode? I'm only eating around 1100-1200 calories a day, so I suppose starvation mode is a possibility. I do have 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter on the days I run, maybe I should add a cheese stick too? Thoughts anyone? :?::?::?: Hope everyone has a good weekend! |

Hi gals! Everyone sounds good, I've had a crazy busy week AND I have good news....
I have had a break through -- a Beck Break Through -- you see I always have this huge war in my head about "go ahead and eat it" vs "oh, I shouldn't but I want it so much".....well you can look at my posted weight and see who has been winning that battle.....so was listening to the Beck book on tape, and Beck was talking about when we have the battle in head and we hear the "go ahead and eat it" we can't be wimpy with our response. We need to say an affirmative and strong at times something like for instance, "No, I don't want to eat that now, I just had dinner, and I'm not hungry."......OH MY GOSH....learning that two days ago has made such a huge difference. I am saying no right and left...and my cravings are subsiding quite a bit as a result-- I'm winning more battles with my cravings. Other good news. I went to the gym twice this week. I'm proud of that because I can be such a "wishful thinker" as I'm laying on the couch just wishing I could lose weight.....and today saw a guy doing a Kettlebell swing, and went over, picked up a beginner kettlebell and asked me to teach me (waited until he was done with his set of course) and he did....and after the gym I went to sporting goods and bought Kettleworks. Mel, congratulations on keeping off the weight you lost for two years -- that is a wonderful accomplishment because I would think it would be so easy to gain it back if you went back to old eating style -- that's what happened to me in the past. You'll get that other off you want too -- we just know you will -- probably during the Fall Back to Basics even. Montecristo -- glad you're back to your 214 -- you like weight training. I lost 80 pounds a long time ago doing weight lifting. I think weight lifting is good for confidence also. After working out with weights, I just enjoy feeling my muscles....be more alive instead of just laying there under this skin and fat being all wimpy and limpy....(looking at fat upper arm imagining muscle) haha. And you are wise to start carefully -- I was careful today also -- once I overdid it with crunches -- was working with a trainer at the time, and a co-worker at work that night said to me, "tell your traininer to ease up on you?" and I said, "huh? why?" she replied, "because I'm tired of hearing that little scream you make every time you stand up or sit down." lol I was really sore and I guess made a little scream sound.....I'm a lot more careful now. Canuckgirl -- welcome back. We're glad you had a fun trip. Selway -- waving to you -- WHEREver you are on vacation.....where are you gal? Riddy -- well gal -- not sure what to say -- that lil 1.5 is a little pesky ain't it? Since you are counting calories, and you're active, I'd say just based on the math that 1.5 pound has to go away at some point -- maybe your body is doing an adjustment? Hang in there gal -- we'll celebrate with you when that pound gives up and gets lost. Everyone remember to drink your water. Add a little lemon and sweetener even -- I did that after the gym today and it was refreshing. Hope I didn't miss anybody -- it's late.....zzzzzz |
Hey Elizabeth -
Glad you're doing better saying no to the cravings. I do something similar - if I see something I want, or start to crave something, I tell myself "not now" or "not this time". That way I'm not saying I can't ever have ice cream or mac & cheese or pizza again, I'm just not having it today. Like last night - I went to a little restaurant in Saratoga that's famous for it's fried chicken. http://www.hattiesrestaurant.com/ Their chef even won a throwdown against Bobby Flay a couple years ago. I've never had their fried chicken, but I didn't order it. My girlfriend had it, and she gave me her wing. It was just enough - in fact it was pretty salty, so I couldn't have eaten a whole order of it. I had grilled jerk chicken (which was fantastic), collard greens, cucumber salad, vinegar cole slaw and gazpacho. A little too much chicken, but otherwise on plan! In other news - I HIT 100 POUNDS DOWN TODAY!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: As of yesterday morning I had dropped 1.3 of the 1.5 I was up last week. I had a cheese stick before my C25K, and had the extra chicken at dinner. I drank oodles of liquid yesterday (27 cups) - I went to the horse track and was out in the sun from noon til 5pm. Today, down a pound! YAHOO!!!!!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: |
Here is a veggie dance party in celebration of Riddy's 100lb loss!

Oh Riddy so happy for you -- SO happy -- I'll join in veggie dance....
:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot: Oh my gosh down 100 -- made my eyes misty -- and makes me happy to celebrate with you....YAYYYYY you did it..... |
