Hi everyone --

FIRST OF ALL -- congrats to CanadaMel for your THREE pounds LOST -- good for you -- You Rock Gal! :carrot:

Also congrats are in order to Shanhat, Riddy and Luv2bloved -- all posted good losses also.

Oh my gosh I have been MIA from the internet recently -- just got overwhelmed more and again with work, sleep schedule, practicing piano, etc....other stuff too but that's an "oh well."

But July 1st -- and time to get back on track, work harder, focus more, plan, execute plan, not give up, etc.....I just have to keep going, and figure this out, not give up, not give up, never never never give up.

I joined this unofficially to train, learn what I needed to do to be OFficially in a challenge in the future -- and OH I am learning the hard way exactly where my focus, drive, lack of planning, -- especially focus -- get in the way of my good intentions.....I so realize GOOD intentions will not get me to goal -- I have to plan, FOCUS, execute plan, etc. I still have a month on this challenge to learn how to do this.

And all of your "losses" do inspire me. Your focus, drive, ability to stay focused helps me.

Here's to us for the home stretch.

And let's remember to drink our water.

Congrats to all the losers! Looks like Red team had a great week.

I'm refocusing on my diet this week. I had been doing just calorie counting, which sort of deteriorated into me just eating 100 calorie packs of snacks all the time. I'm still going to calorie count, but I'm going to try and eat healthy things at the same time. I'm going to add back in weights for every other workout as well.

shanhat81 07-02-2012 02:21 PM

Everyone slap me for my "Oh, we have power" hubris, please ...

Saturday night there was a fire that took out yet another DC-area transmitter ... and yeah, that was the one that powered my gym.

Karma is a butt kicker, and so is Jillian Michaels.

Congrats to CM and all the losers!

Great job Mel, shanhat, and wuv!

Elizabeth, I read on another thread how someone was saying that losing weight needs to be a COMMITMENT. Motivation fades, but you need to honor your commitment. Just like you're not always excited about your job or your marriage, but you stick with it because you're committed to it. Makes a lot of sense when I think of it that way.

Montecristo, I've found that WHAT I eat matters a lot. I'm hypoglycemic, so I would be passed out on the floor on a lowfat low calorie higher carb diet. The only reason I can do Medifast is because it's so protein rich.

Shanhat, hope the power is back on at home and the gym soon! Hope you get your foot out of your mouth (or the keyboard) soon, too! :p

Yesterday I did the week 2, day 3 of couch to 5K. Without even trying, I did 0.2 miles more than the previous workout in the same amount of time! I'm really amazed that I'm actually progressing! I don't want to piss off my knees, so I'm still going to do 1 more week 2 workout tomorrow before I move on to week 3.

wuv2bloved 07-03-2012 11:02 AM

Down another 3lbs this week...AMAZING!!!....the end seems to be closer than I think!!...>WOOHOO!!!!!!

shanhat81 07-03-2012 11:32 AM

Day 3 with no power at the gym ... thankfully, my friend got me a guest pass for spinning tonight at her gym, which has power.

I am freaking out that one week out of my routine will kill it for me.

Riddy 07-03-2012 11:59 AM

Wow, wuv! I'm amazed you're still dropping 2-4 pounds a week. I do a happy dance anytime I get over 1.5! ;) Your dedication is impressive - I know I'm impressed with myself for sticking with Medifast this long.

Shanhat, breathe! Glad you're going to get some spinning in tonight. 1 week of less excersise will not break you. Do what you can, and eat well.

So my longer distance on Sunday was a fluke. I repeated week 2, day 3 of couch to 5K today, and was back down to the same distance as on Friday. But it was hotter out today than Sunday, so maybe that mad the difference.

Great loss this week for the team. Congratulations winners!

This is a tough week with all the holiday festivities. We have lots of guests and plenty of food and drink. I'm trying to keep as low carb as I can and sticking with the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution program. I'm done with 22 days...68 left to go! It is really good to have this commitment that I will finish 90 days.

Elizabeth779 07-04-2012 06:06 AM

Hi everyone -- Happy 4th of July -- hope you have a good day and enjoy the fireworks (I'll be working, and it will be busy, sigh, but that's okay....son is grown so don't mind working a holiday so much.)

Riddy -- appreciate what you said about commitment. That makes a LOT of sense. I've copied it over to my Iphone healthy eating and Beck notes even....it gives me a lot to think about.

Wuv2bloved -- your pics are amazing and inspiring. I'm going to go check out the video and website after I post this.

Everyone have a great and safe 4th. And drink your water.

canuckgirl7 07-04-2012 12:09 PM

Congrats Mel and to the honourable mentions! I hope al you Americans have a happy fourth of July!

irinaelenav 07-04-2012 12:31 PM

interesting challange!! i guess it is toooooo late to join right????

maryshady 07-05-2012 03:12 PM

Hi all!!! I am still here. Had to come home early from vacation because of the death of my aunt. Came home to totally destruction from a storm with hurricane force winds. The whole town looked like a tornado went thru. Trees and power lines down everywhere. Finally got our power back after 5 days in close to 100 degree temperature. Don't realize how wonderful air conditioning and running water is until you don't have it!

I couldn't post on Sunday due to the power outage but am up about 2 lbs. Working hard now that I can cook & store food again to get down before Sunday.

Glad to see you are doing so well.:smug:

CanadaMel 07-06-2012 03:44 AM

Sorry to be off grid. Thoroughly enjoying my time on the big island and trying to plot how to move here.
A serious case of the grass is always greener. Literally!
Anyone on the east coast that was affected by the storm hope life getting back to 'normal'.
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.
Did you all her about the fireworks in San Diego?

shanhat81 07-06-2012 04:44 PM

^ LOL, the fireworks in San Diego story was hysterical.

We went to the Mall and watched the DC ones -- pretty cool.

Somehow, I lost 2.6 this week. I am befuddled-ly happy!
