WELL DONE!

Holy smokes ladies- we more than tripled our team weight loss from week 6! Smokin! :flame:

2 members were eliminated due to missing 3 weigh ins. We have 13 members + our honorary member Elizabeth!!

GO RED!! Here's to an awesome week 8

MonteCristo 06-18-2012 08:54 AM

Red was smokin' this week! Congrats to wuv2bloved & Selway for having the biggest losses, and all the other great losers for making Red team look good! :D

My back is doing much better. I haven't been able to exercise since Wednesday, but I'm going to try to get back into it today. I'll probably just shoot for 20 minutes on the elliptical instead of 40...don't want to throw anything back out!

I am so thrilled with my weight loss for this week. I could do a happy dance! :carrot:

Riddy 06-18-2012 10:30 AM

Great job wuv, Selway, Mel, and Monte!

I am so freaking proud of myself - I started couch to 5k on Saturday. I never thought I'd be able to do any sort of running, and since I've lost all this weight, I've started to think that almost anything is possible. My 2 bad knees (ACL repair in 1, chondromalacia in the other) haven't pitched a fit yet, so I'm going to keep going. I don't know if I can do it in 8 weeks, if at all, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Have a great week everyone!

zogo 06-18-2012 11:58 AM

Way to go Wuv, Selway, MEL, MC and Riddy!!
You ladies all pulled off great losses this week!

I'm happy to have maintained my loss from the previous week and didn't gain after our BBQ on Father's Day. Even passed on Mom's fresh peach pie. MIL even commented on my awesome willpower (and she never compliments me, lol)

Good job, everyone!!!

I've been wondering lately about heart rate monitors ... does anyone have one? Which one? Does it work?

The reason I'm curious is b/c I don't *REALLY* know how many calories I'm burning during my workouts.

I have this Timex... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ms_ohs_product ... it is very easy to use, and appears to be extremely accurate. I've had it for almost 2 years now, and never even had to change the battery.

Congrats to all the losers!!!! I finally am heading downward after two weeks of nil. I will be posting my weight this Thursday morning as I am leaving for California on Thursday night. We have a wedding on Saturday and since I don't have a smart phone won't be able to post.
Planning on eating lo carb on vacation so I promise I will not come back with a weight gain :)

selway 06-18-2012 08:05 PM

Excellent job Red Team, we did it!!!! Congrats to all of the losers.

Monte Cristo - glad to hear your back is feeling a little better.

Riddy - Awesome on the new running program, I have heard that it is great.

I hope everyone has a great week!!!!

selway 06-19-2012 10:37 AM

Elizabeth - how did church go on Sunday? I was thinking about you!!

CanadaMel 06-20-2012 09:00 AM

Hi team- Wednesday again. Yet another week flying by. One more week for my kids and then it's summer break.

Yes Elizabeth- how did the piano playing go? How is your body feeling after your fall?

Shan- I've never used a hrm. My pedometer counts aerobic steps and kcal burned, but I don't really pay attention to it since I don't know how accurate it is.

Zogo- I think maintaining is sometimes than losing! WTG.

Riddy- I used the Couch to 5k program to start running. I think i took 12 weeks to finish the program. Go at your own pace & listen to your body.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great productive day!

It's things like Zumba that confuse me, but if I continue to go down, I can hold off.

I went for my annual physical yday afternoon.

Some comparative stats:

WEIGHT
2011: 190
2012: 157

BLOOD PRESSURE
2011: 155/90
2012: 125/70

WAIST (I measured this myself last night and am going off my wedding dress measurements from 2010, when I was about the same weight, for the 2011 number)
2011: 34"
2012: 30"

I discussed my goal weight with my dr (far preferable to discussing it at WW), which was great.

But my hypertension is considered "controlled." I would like that top number to come down a tad, but supposedly a few more lbs will do it. No more threat of medication, no more health risk, no more worry.

CanadaMel 06-20-2012 08:40 PM

Shan- well done at the doctor! Huge congrats on the controlled hypertension. Keep up the great work!

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday and is enjoying the first day of summer.
Tomorrow is my eldest daughter's bday. She is turning 12. We are going to the opening of a children's art exhibit that she has a drawing in, then out to dinner at the local drive in. I may have to have an onion ring :0

Have a great evening all!

Riddy 06-20-2012 10:20 PM

Happy Wednesday ladies!

Shanhat, great job on the medical numbers!

Maryshady, have a great time at the wedding!

I've completed 3 days of couch to 5k now! I never would have thought I could do this a year ago. I wasn't going to do it today, but when my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning, my eyes snapped open and I was wide awake. (I'm usually a hit the snooze bar for 30-40 minutes kinda girl). Since I had the extra time, I went out and jogged/walked at 5:45am! Who am I and what have I done with me?!?!??!!?? :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:

Gotta get good exercise in while I can - not sure I'll have the time or the inclination this weekend. My plan is exercise Friday before I leave and Sunday after I get home, and try to at least do some yoga on Saturday in the hotel room.

selway 06-21-2012 10:40 AM

Maryshady - have a great trip!

Riddy - Woot woot on the running. Have a great trip as well.

CanadaMel - I love celebrating my kids' birthdays. Have a great day and happy birthday to your daughter.

Shathat - NICE!!!!

I am away from the computer until Sunday so everyone have a nice day and a nice weekend. It is supposed to be 97 here today, wowzer.

shanhat81 06-21-2012 02:06 PM

I want to know who turned up the heat outside and when it's going to cool down ... it's so disgusting out. And it's only June!!!!
