Hi everyone.
It's good to see more people checking in. I'll do my best to start doing personals, but I find it difficult the first week or two.
Well after a slow start, I ended up having a good day. I spaced my lunch out a bit more, so I wasn't famished when I got home.
I'm also trying to focus on eating more slowly. Sometimes (try almost always) I get so excited about eating that I wolf it down and it's gone. Sigh- food obsessed much?
These are a few of the baby steps I'm working on.
Well- time to walk the dog & then relax with the kids.

Have a great evening

Morning, people! Things have been going great here so far. I'm struggling a bit with my new-found diet freedom, though. I've been calorie counting for years, but I just switched to paleo, which allows you to eat as much as you want of certain foods. It's weird, but I feel so GUILTY about it sometimes, like I ought to be feeling hungrier or something. Still, I think I'm making progress with normalizing my eating, and I think I ought to have a pretty good number Sunday. We'll see!

I really struggled through my workout yesterday. I had no energy, got a really bad headache about 10 minutes in...I just wanted to quit. But I forced myself to finish. I didn't feel better afterwards, but I know it is good for me in the long run, so I'm glad I did. That 200 situp thing is kicking my butt! I feel like someone ran over my stomach with a motor bike. It is awesome! The pushups I'm not really feeling yet, but I think I'm going to focus more on making the the most beautifully perfect pushups ever...I can't go very low right now, but I'm trying.

This week has gone pretty well so far. I do need to stay off the scale and only weigh on my weigh in day, Sunday.I can get a bit obsessive about the scale.

I just saw some pictures of me last night that were shocking. This always happens to me though. I don't feel as big as I am. Just motivation to continue on this path.

I'll admit it: haven't hit the gym at all this week ... I've worked about 80 hours since Friday.

I know I'll pay for it at my weigh-in tomorrow, but I made my book deadline, so I'll just get back in the saddle this week.

I didn't get home til 10:30 last night, but I got some yoga in before bed. I'm working late again today, so I got up early and did yoga and tried 10 minutes of a new cardio dance dvd.

And happy belated birthday, shanhat81 !

Yesterday went well. Stayed on plan, and got in a 40 minute walk. For some reason today my throat is hurting and I really don't have much of a desire to eat because of this. I'm still going to do my best to stick to plan and get in two workouts. Trying to keep my eyes on the prize. Hope everyone has a "Terrific Thursday."

I usually get up at 4:15 and exercise in the AM before work. I have two little ones that keep me busy in the evening. I haven't been sleeping well so when I slept REALLY hard last night I turned off my alarm and went back to bed when it started beeping this AM. Now I feel guilty. Hopefully I can get a good workout in this PM. Maybe a good long run will work.

Monte Cristo - may I ask what you use to track your calories burned? Just curious....

Everyone have a great day!!

It's from that place that's on the DC Cupcakes show on TLC -- Georgetown Cupcake. It's sooooo good.

I wear a heart rate monitor when I workout. It calculates the calories burned. I've done lots of testing on it, and it is pretty much dead on.

Hi everyone! Sorry I am just checking in now. It has been a crazy week at work. Students are having their final exams soon and so the whole office is just insane. Things should be turning back to normal next Tuesday-- whew! I can't wait.

I've been doing well though. I've been exercising before going to work in the morning so that I know I have time to fit it in. If I put it off until after work, I know that I'll never do it.
