Purplefirefly Sounds like you've got a good plan. BTW Jillian calls it taking advantage of the afterburn.

Hi Everyone,
I am very excited for this challenge. Due to the economy, the last year was very stressful at work, culminating with losing my job about three weeks ago. The silver lining though is now I have lots of time to exercise and find myself eating a much healthier diet. I find I am very determined to lose some weight and get in shape in order to add a little control to my life and feel better at the same time. It is my job loss therapy! I love to exercise but have a much more difficult time controlling my eating. I visit this site every day for inspiration and find it very motivating. All my weight loss talk drives my poor husband nuts so I am so thankful for having a place to share this journey towards good health and a stronger body. |
Hi Everyone! It is good to be back in challenge mode with the Red Team!
As you can see from my ticker I started out at 220 way back in October of '07. I lost down to 154 by last June, but my family life went all to pieces, and I ended up gaining back up to 180. Things have finally settled down, and I'm back on the weight loss track. My goal is to lose 1.25lbs per week. For my diet I allow myself to eat anything I want, I just watch the total number of calories. I exercise 5 days a week, shooting for at least 600 calories burned each time. |
Hiya all!! Welcome new red members and great to see you returning members! :)
This is my 4th BL challenge, third in a row on the red team. I'm very excited to get going again! I'm on the eat less, move more program. :) I track my food through the WW online tools, but don't go to meetings or anything like that. For activity, I walk/jog with the dog 3-4 times a week for about 12-16 miles weekly. After 9 months, she is finally getting to where she doesn't Marmaduke me for the first mile when we walk out the door - she's just so excited to get out and get fit with me I guess. :) I am very excited today as I just met my personal goal for the Spring Forward challenge. I'm a couple weeks late, but happy to get there before the Summer challenge begins. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and to a very successful summer for the red team!! |
WooHoo! I'm am here and excited to do this challenge with everyone. I need to make a change in my life style with how I eat, I have a love for pasta and could(and have) ate it for bkft, lunch and supper:(.
I'm starting some what like tinabinab is, I want to eat less and move more.I'm going to try counting calories and have signed up for a calorie counter at everydayhealth. This is new to me so we'll see how it goes... Exercise has always been a downfall for me but from here on it is going to happen, who knows , maybe I'll enjoy it:smug:. I also have a dog that loves to take me for a walk, I really need to use this to my advantage. Good luck everyone! |
Hey Red team!
This is my first BL challenge and I'm really excited for it! My goal for the challenge is to "get to goal!" I'm 15 pounds away right now. I am most likely going to scoot my goal about 10 pounds back, to 164 once I reach 174. But I'm trying to focus on the first goal for now. When I was at 241, 174 felt so far away that I felt if I could just get THERE I'd be elated. When I got married 15 years ago, I weighed 174 and wore a size 10 wedding dress. Anyhow, all that to say my goal for the challenge is to get to 174. I am a calorie counter (at 1400-1600 per day right now.) I also do workout DVD's at home along with Treadmill. I am currently doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian. I start level two tomorrow - pray for me! I generally work out 6 days a week with one day off. I'm trying to do this 30 day shred thing 30 consecutive days, but missed last Friday because my baby was so sick. So although it's my goal to do it 30 days in a row, I don't beat myself up if I have to miss. I am a stay at home mom, to my 21 month old baby boy and my 9 year old daughter who has 4 1/2 days of school till summer vacation. Oh and did I mention I'm 42? So yes, I have a one year old baby at age 42!! So I need all the energy and longevity that I can get!! I'm excited to be in this challenge with you all! Go Red!! |
Real quick flyby just say hey. This is my 5th (I believe) challenge. Really trying to make some more progress this time around. I'll check in a little later with more info.
Mel- Look at you!! 160 pounds. I am hoping to get there myself. |

Today was not a good day so I'm not talking about it :tape: tomorrow is a new day. |
Glad everyone is jumping in and getting this thing going. All is well here in SK today. It's Tuesday! Oh, and I have a huge interview this afternoon at the international school. Wish me luck! I'm really really nervous. It's the first in-person interview I have done in a long time. Hoping to set up a job for the end of August/early September to come back to here in Geoje Island after my visit home to the states.
I'm also heading back to the gym today. I've been out of it for 3 weeks first because of my knee injury, and then the pneamonia. I'm all better now and excited to get back to burning this weight off of my body. Hope everyone is having a good start to the week!!! :) |
Hello Red Team,
I'm back and able to participate this time. As some of you may remember I was part of the lasyt challenge but had to drop out right after it started because of the illness of my MIL. It's been a stressful year so far, but can only get better. I lost my mother and MIL one week apart in March, and have been dealing with all that entails lately and have let my gettting healthy and losing weight go so I'm starting all over again. Good luck everyone Bette K |

Wow, riding my bike everyday and walking around downtown is killing my body. I haven't been this sore in a long time, but thankfully it feels good. And the heat that we have here in Chicago is totally cutting my appetite in half. But I have upped my coffee allotment and am feeling irritable and unable to sleep because of it. Oopps. Glad to see everyone is excited for the challenge.

Morning All
Looking foward to this challenge. I do have a question. Will you give out "last chance" workout todo each week. |
Hi everyone! My name is Amy and I am a32 y.o. mother of a 20 month old and I work full time as a software programmer. This is my first BL challenge.
My current plan is 1500 - 1700 calories a day, workout at least 5 days a week, preferably 7. I have an elliptical trainer at home, so this is generally what I do (45-60 minutes a day). I am hoping to incorporate some weight lifting during this challenge. I plan on taking my measurements before and after the challenge to give me another way to measure my success. This may be a dumb question, but does someone get voted off each week? How is the Biggest Loser crowned (based on percentage lost, best from both teams... I know you have to post every week and weigh in every week to qualify). Looking forward to getting to know everyone. |
