Sunni - It was beautiful this weekend in NC wasn't it?! That really sucks about the food poisoning though Hope you are feeling better soon.

Quick pop in as I am enjoyng DH's b-day still. TOM showed up a day early which means 2 things for me: 1. not preggers and 2. I feel like crap. But that's ok, that gives me another month to get my act together and lose some more. Summer is coming way too fast, and I've been a slacker!!! It was almost warm enough to go to the beach here this weekend and I am not quite ready yet.

I've been reading a lot of nutrition books lately, and I think DH and I are going to try to cut most dairy out of our diet as well as the gluten. DH seems to be having bad reactions to the dairy, and my mom has been too. So this might be for the better because then I can't eat all the cheese and ice cream anymore which are my weaknesses. So when it's out of the house, I'm not buying anymore. Sorry kids! Popscicles from here on out!

Have a great night everyone!

Nella - It WAS beautiful this weekend! A little overcast this afternoon, but still warm enough to forgo jackets, which always makes me happy. :D

Bigmid - Congrats on being the biggest loser!! And congrats to all the "losers" this week. You guys deserve a :cp: :D

---------
We went to the outlet malls and only walked 2.4 miles but were so TIRED at the end of the day. Then I realized it was cause we stood/walked for 3 hours without any sitting breaks. *whew* ;) I bought SO many little things. Stocked up on my xword puzzle books, a black belt for this pyjama gown I got as an xmas present that I'm converting into a summer look, haha. I can't find the exact one I got, but this is close enough and mine's solid purple. Anyway, I still need leggings (black) and black sandals to complete the look. I would've never worn this 20 lbs ago, but it's a possibility now. :) I also bought a brand new pair of brown corduroys as the ones I have now (12s) are almost white they're so worn out and they look/sit awkwardly because I'm smaller but not small enough for them to fall off. Oh well, gave me an excuse to buy something - $10 pants!! :D

Ok, I've yapped enough. Talk to you ladies tomorrow. Here's wishing everyone a happy week!

Hey everyone! Congratulations to all our losers this week!!

Sorry I've been away from the boards for the last week or so. I had a real dip in motivation and commitment to my goals, not just with weight loss but in life it seems.

HOWEVER, I am back on track and feeling great and ready to take on whatever comes my way! I am nearing the end of term at school so lots of deadlines coming my way, but I have a handle on them I think. Keeping on track with my food habits usually keeps me sane at times like these!!

Good luck for the week ahead :)

Congratulations to our Biggest Loser Bigmid and to the Runners Up Gracie, mageorge and weeblewobble. Lot's of weight lost this week.

Just a pop in to start the new week. Hope everyone gets a good dose of motivation and make this a super weight loss week.

Congrats to our biggest losers this week. Great job ladies and congrats to Bigmid for making it to ONEderland!!!

I'm back on track as of yesterday. :D

Did anyone watch the new Jaime Oliver show last night called "Food Revolution"? I watched last night and can honestly say I wanted to smack those lunch ladies. They had such attitudes and were so negative about everything. Of course MOST children are going to choose a big piece of greesy cheese pizza over chicken breast, brown rice, and vegetables! Anyways, after watching it, I realize how much I need to change our family eating habits. We don't eat nearly as bad as the family profiled in the show, but there is defenitely room for improvement. The data that suggests that children now adays are going to live shorter lives (10-14 years shorter) than their parents really makes me sad. So I'm going to make small and subtle changes. No more white bread, no more sugar filled cereal, more raw produce.

Morning Ladies~
:congrat: Bigmid for being the Biggest Loser and hitting onederland!! :cp:to the runners up!! Reading how well you gals are doing keeps me motivated.
I missed Jamie's show last night, hopefully can catch it ondemand. He changed England's schools lunches, so hopefully he can make an impact here in the states. I've always loved watching his cooking shows on food network.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week. :grouphug:

He's going to have issues in the states. I watched this documentary - something about corn production in the US - that discussed this very idea. Apparently, foods with lots of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) are heavily subsidized by the govt and are, of course, selected as lunch items for kids in elem all the way through high school. They showed one school (forget where) that were growing their own veggies (cute!) and providing it to the cafeteria for lunch supplies and the kids were happy and without obesity problems BUT had the school opted straight for healthy meals, it would have been an incredibly high expense. They did a comparison and it was something like $0.30 a meal for HFCS crap and $2.50 a meal for veggies/healthy starches. With the insane cost difference and budget restraints, many schools are forced to select HFCS over good food. I admire Jamie's get-go though and I really hope he makes a difference!

BTW, anybody who wants to watch it and doesn't mind watching it on a computer screen - it's up on hulu.com! It's the first show highlighted. I was wondering what that was about this afternoon, guess I'll give it a look-see! :D

Yay!! babygrant.. thank you for letting me know.. :)
Well Ladies, I feel awesome tonight! I worked out this morning with BL Last Chance Workout dvd.. it is HIIT, about 35min. for todays workout in their program and kicks your behind, then after an incredibly long hectic day at work, being two staff short to boot, I came home and did an additional 30min of BL Weight Loss Yoga! So proud of me haha! Tomorrow is day 2 of BL LCW, which is strength training, upper and lower body. Will do that upon waking, then do W1D1 of C25k during my lunch tomorrow, and then BL Weight Loss Yoga again tomorrow evening. I feel like things are finally coming together.. Yay :D

mageorge 03-22-2010 08:38 PM

Starting last week (week 12) of Chalean Extreme...YEAH! I loved this program. If you like to lift weights and need a very structured program, this would be the one for you. I start P90X next week. My husband ordered it and I can't let him show me up. I am a little afraid...but no pain, no gain. Yesterday I did the p90x yoga...90 minutes! It was awesome, and don't let anyone ever tell you that yoga is not a good workout. I was very sore from it, but in a good way. Hope everyone has a great week!

Woohoo Bigmid! Awesome weightloss Chica:carrot::carrot:

dayoneagain 03-23-2010 05:20 AM

I think I'm going to be heading back to the gym today. Have done virtually no exercise for 3 weeks so it should be.... interesting.

Hope everyone's feeling good!

Sunnigummi 03-23-2010 07:58 AM

Ang - WAY TO GO!! That's commitment (and an inspiration)!! :carrot:So you tried BL yoga, huh? I took ONE yoga class years ago and I was so bored that I told myself I'd rather do anything BUT yoga again. I was really sore after the class and this was during my 'gym bunny' phase, so it's a good workout! I'll probably do better with a yoga video than an actual instructor. I get a case of the giggles when someone tells me to breathe. I dunno, I find it funny because I AM breathing and anyone who needs to be told to breathe, well... :p

mageorge - Echo tried P90X and she said it was killer. So did the others who tried it and posted on the forums. I saw the infomercials when I used to wake up in the middle of the night (stress) and I thought it was major intense. Kudos to you for pushing aside your fear and trying it! Woohoo!! Good luck and let us know how it goes! :D

dayone - Excellent!! I just went last week after not going for um 3-4 weeks. :) It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Then again, I had to tell myself not to overdo it and to go slow. For me, it's always easier the first day back in the gym because my muscles aren't sore and they can go further. It's the days following that are a problem... :p Anyway, good luck today!! You'll be back on a losing streak in no time!

-----
I got TOM this morning, so I'm not sure if I will be able to get to the gym. I might not have any cramps, in which case I will go. If not, I'll get some much needed house-cleaning done around here which will be a semi workout. Also, I have netflix, so I can try out some of those workout videos.

I've also been staying up late (midnight+) and I get a serious case of the munchies then, but I've been ignoring them and drinking water instead. So far, it's working! I'm hoping to get down to 152 this weekend. I'm so excited - my parents are coming to visit!! We're taking them for a long weekend to the Outer Banks, a really beautiful beach area of NC. I've never been, so I'm looking forward to the trip as well. :D

Have a good day, all!
