Hopefully I'll get a few more pounds off by next Monday. I have a practice 5k tomorrow and the real thing on Sat. That should do some good.

Sorry, I forgot to post the link/reminder.

Congrats on being at your lowest. Good luck on the 5K.

I would really like to get good at ZUMBA; it will take commitment and unfortunately I'm just not there. My question is why does it take just a few days to BREAK a habit?

I consulted with the surgeon yesterday and my gallbladder removal is scheduled for July 9th as an outpatient laproscopic procedure. I'm not looking forward to it but it HAS to be done.

Exciting news/brag for me.... I reached one of my mini goals; I now weigh less than Miss Tyra. I was thinking I had a few more pounds to go but apparently she has put on a couple in the last six months. I didn't realized how big she had gotten until I took this picture so I decided to run her by the vet and weigh her. I had not seen the folks at the vet in several months so they were ALL shocked when they saw me; it feels good to be shocking.

CruiseCAT- you pictures are great!! Congrats on meeting your weight loss goal. Sorry about your gallbladder but i can totally relate. I had my gallbladder out last June actually a year ago today. I did not know I had a problem. I was having some minor pain but ignored it. On a saturday night I had a pain so severe I could not stand it. I went to the ER and they took it out my gallbladder early that Sunday morning. I had 7 gallstones the size of golf balls. He said it was the worst he had ever seen in his career. The Dr said he was amazed that I could function because obviously my galbladder did not work for probably the past 5-7 years. Who knew. Anyway I have a few small scars and have never felt better. I was in the hospital overnight and went home the next morning with pain meds. I was nursing at the time so I did not take any thing but tylenol and did fine. I had to wear staples for a week after and had a small drain for a couple of days. after that except for some ER bathroom breaks I was fine. You will be too. You already are watching what yu eat and staying away from fried foods so to me that was the part i had to get use too. Good Luck- you will do great...

Congratulations to all the Red Rockets!!! 2 weeks in a row!! WOW!!!!

I would love to be able to exercise for 30 minutes or more everyday for 40 days. I have been consistant for the last few weeks so I think I am on my way to 40 days. I think there is something to it. I do not know if it is 40 days but it does take time. I know when i began my lifestyle change I thought I could never drink 64oz of water a day without being in the bathroom every 5 seconds and I got past that. Then I thought I would never be able to live without caffiene and it has been 3 months since i had a diet mt dew. So here is hoping to exercise catching on!!

I would really like to get in the habit of exercising in the morning so it is out of the way first thing. I try and I try and I can never seem to keep it up, maybe I will try again tomorrow morning.

Ladies, let me be the devil here for a minute. I just noticed that week three's exercise thread is looking a little sparse. There a few of you posting those workouts, but quite a few people are missing. Come on girls. If we want to win week 3 we gotta work it.

My friend and I did our practice 5k today. The real thing is on Sat. We did pretty good, 44 min. We went a little too far because we took a wrong turn. It should be fun.

Cruise- I'll say it again. Cute, cute doggie.

Well I've already succeeded at completing the couch to 5K & continue to run every other day. The next 40 days I am striving to keep my afternoon/preparing dinner snacking under control. How will I keep track? Good question...When I think of a good way I'll let you know LOL

CruiseCAT - Great job, your dog is beautiful and you look great!
BBQ's - Don't go for seconds!
40 days - I am trying to start bike riding at night... guess that means I have to go get my clothes on. The biggest obstical for me is getting dinner in me before I go. Tonight that is done and I have about an hour left of daylight.... BYE!!!

Hmm...exercising. I have had an awful time with exercising lately. I am so tired and take naps when I can. The baby has been so fussy lately, got another tooth. 4 teeth in about 2 weeks is not fun!

Writing everyday again. I am a freelance writer and have been lax in my daily writing as of late. I need to get back into a regular schedule.

Hi All,
Tonight I'm hurting all over, Once again I started gardening, but today I planted flowers and made a herb garden. It took about an hour to clear off the flower garden and get it planted, it was pretty weedy. I got spooked by a large garden spider, the body alone was about an inch long, and I hate spiders. We came to an agreement tho, since it left me alone I'll leave it alone. Then I went to plant my herbs, but decided the bed I was going to put them in wasn't right. I ended up digging a new bed about 3.5 ft square for my herbs. Digging out sod is no fun and a lot of work. I worked up quite a sweat. But I now have my herbs growing close to the front door where I can get to them easily. I planted thyme, sage, cilantro, oregano, mint, and stevia. Any one know how to use fresh stevia? I would love to be able to use it instead of sugar in stuff.
Tomorrow after work I'll do some hoeing in the garden, it's lots of work, but I want to work in the garden to lose weight, and to eat the veges to keep it off, a win win situation.
Everyone have a great weekend.
Bette K

Morning ladies.... sure is quite around here.

mtiger - 44 minutes is excellent, I do fine on the treadmill but can't seem to really run on the streets. Keep it up, you are doing GREAT.

BetteK - I have no idea about the stevia. I have to tell you I really miss having a garden. I was going to do a patio one this year but just never got around to starting it.

I'm be gone most of the day, I've got to take my truck in for service and then Paula and I are going to the farmer's market and the movies.

Hope you all have a good day.

The parents' microwave is dead! Well, I went to make my organic oatmeal and the thing goes on, but the heating element or whatever makes it do its thing is broken. To say I was pissed is an understatement (TOM can get me moody ha). So, I ended up wasting a packet of Whole Foods oatmeal and making eggbeaters/egg whites. Yummy, but still not pleased about my oatmeal. I love eating it everyday as crazy as that sounds.

Hi Everybody! Looking forward to the weekend?

We lost power here at work (for over and hour, ugh!) just when I was about to get on 3FC. It is times like this when I realize how much I love this site!

mtiger 06-11-2009 04:21 PM

Cruise- I just showed my DD the pics of your puppy. All she could say was OMG!! She can't believe how pretty she is and how BIG!!! She would like to see a size comparison with you standing next to each other. on the running front, my friend says the same thing. She has a harder time running outside. We do most of our running at work, inside. I think you just get used to it. She was complaining about all the hills. Actually they were kind of little ones. I'm used to worse. It's funny how our perspectives change over time.

I squeked out a little more today. I saw 187.8. Now I must keep it going in that direction. I want 185 really bad.

This link has a section (scroll down) on harvesting and using the stevia leaves.

http://www.stevia.net/growingstevia.htm

I have a friend who grows it, and her DH chews the leaves. I need to try my hand at growing it next year. Let us know how it works for you!
