Thank you, Modcat. :D
Just a quickie, tonight. Been busier than a one legged man at a butt kicking contest. I didn't do well eating yesterday but I am nicely on track, today. I am really ticked, tho. I will most likely have to take a freebie this first week because I still can't fit a scale into my budget. Grrr! I am still mad at myself. :( Must run. I'll see all you fine people later. :D |

Everyone is rocking the QOTDs! I'm glad it's keeping the thread flowing. The thread usually doesn't move as fast during the weekend :) Hope everyone gets in some good exercise this weekend! I know I have worked out more this week than normal so I am pumped. I just need to plan my meals out better and get rid of the last of the holiday junk that is lingering by feeding it to the boys not me! I can't wait to see how we did on week 1!
|
Phew! Made it to the end of the thread, but I see it is the next day now!! Must get to bed!!!
Yesterday's QOTD: My favorite healthy meal is chicken stir fry. Today's QOTD: My major motivations are 1) to feel light 2) to not be thinking about hiding my tummy rolls. I succumbed and ate the end of the vanilla ice cream and a couple handfuls of chocolate chips last night. TOM descended upon me with a vengeance and I listened!! The good news is I threw the rest of the bag of chocolate chips in the garbage that night. Now, I only have a birthday cake to contend with tomorrow. We will be celebrating my DSS birthday tomorrow. I confess to having had a few licks of the icing already. But tomorrow is another day. I've had a good week and I expect to get fully back on track after a slice of cake tomorrow. |
QOTD
What motivates me. I want to be healthy and I know this extra weight is not healthy. Eating the requirements of each food groups is healthy for me. I try to make sure I eat the required amounts of the food groups each and every day. 6 Bread/Cereal, 2 dairy, 2 meat, 3 veggie and 2 fruit. I have a heck of a time getting 6 bread/cereal. I shoot for 4 lol. It has become a real game for me to eat all those requirements AND stay within 1200 to 1400 calories, 30 to 35 grams fat and 180 to 210 carbs. |
QOTD: What motivates you to lose weight?
I have to say that at the beginning it was primarily vanity. I wanted to be smaller, and to fit into all the gorgeous clothes I found. Now? 7 months down the track and I'm loving the health benefits. I love the way I sleep better at night, have more energy when I'm awake, and just generally feel more alive and energised. I'm a bit spooked by the fact that when I have some spare time now I throw on my exercise gear and go for a run! And I love finding new and healthy foods to try. Quote:

Now for my news. I've been floating around the 192-194 mark since the start of December. Some plateau! It's really been annoying me. So today I jumped on the scales for the first time since Christmas, hoping that I hadn't put on weight. 188.2! That's a whole 4.8lb off! I'm absolutely stoked. I weighed myself 3 times to make sure, then when I'd had a shower did it again, and got exactly the same weight every time! So Jen, I'm right up there with you (not quite, but still...) Good luck with the weigh-ins this week chickies. Lets kick some Blue Team butt! |
Jen - way to go!! What an awesome first week!!
Okay, I'm now at work for the night and have the best intentions to workout when I get home, as I always do. So, I am going to post here that I WILL do BL Yoga tape in a.m. Now I have some accountability and will hopefully be guilted into it so I do not have to post tomorrow night that I was lazy and watched tv instead!! QOTD- what motivates me My sister(ASap, who has yet to post here, but is sick so I will cut her some slack) has 3 little girls who I just love to be with. I was realizing how hard it was for me to play with them and how horrible I felt so that was my original motivation. I started this with The Beck Plan and the original motivation cards(that I still carry with me) still hold true -to be healthier and able to move without pain -to be alive to see the girls grow up -to be able to fly in comfort and without embarassment -to not always think 'Am I the fattest one here' (the answer was usually yes) -to have a lap for the girls to sit on (I DO!!) and to be able to snuggle and lay on the couch together to watch a movie (WE CAN!!) -to be able to go on rides with them (I'm sure I can fit now, so bring on the amusement park!) I'm 1/2 way to goal but already feel like a new person...I still read my cards frequently as it reminds of how bad I felt and how important it is to stick with this lifestyle. Well, back to work... |

We'll be checking! |
God Morning. I just weighed in, down 2 pounds.. I'm happy about that.
I'm looking forward to a new week, with my C25K start.. Have a nice weekend everyone! |
Good morning, Red Team!
Thanks for all the kudos. It feels good to have a good result the first week. I am mentally preparing myself for the next couple of weeks. Historically, this is when I poop out and give up. NOT THIS TIME! I am sticking with it, regardless of what the scale says. I am in this for the long haul this time! Tonight will be a test--we're going over to friends' house for game night, and there will be lots of food around. But I have a plan--we're eating healthy turkey burgers with all the fixins before we go, and drinking Coke Zero or water while we game. Off now to do my Saturday stuff! Housework and a workout! |
Well ladies, I just finished reading all the post. Seems as though everyone is doing really well. :) I say let's rock the socks off the blue team. I haven't participated that much is this week's dicussion, but I hope to do better next week. I plan on incorporating more exercise next week as well. This week I was able to do Slim in Six Start it Up once. Next one I plan on doing it everyday and will use the Wii Fit in the afternoon after work.

Hey Red Team! I feel like such a slacker compared to some of you all! With the QOTDs and personals!
QOTDs- 1. My favorite healthy meal is hawaiian barbeque chicken sandwich. (Sauteed chicken, bbq sauce, mustard and pineapple on wheat! yum!) 2. My motivation is my health and not gonna lie, my appearance. I watch BL and wonder what my biological age is! I dont want to die an early death and leave my boys behind! Also I hate looking around everytime I go somewhere in public to see if I am the fattest person in the room, before I got pregnant I was down to 230 lbs and I felt sexy and wasnt ashamed to be out in public. Last night DH and I went grocery shopping and he ran into two of his HS buddies and I kept walking so they couldnt look at me cause I am so ashamed of how I look! I know ppl say, its not whats on the outside that counts, but for me it does! The weeks challenge is not working out for me! It is so different having 2 kids now. I used to be able to do my workouts when my 2 year old was napping, but now that I have him and the little one, workout time is impossible! Also, I bombed yesterday with my diet. I went to the doctor for my Pre-Op prep and it just made me even more nervous/stressed about the surgery on Tuesday. I stress ate like crazy. I used all of my daily WW points and finished off most of my weekly allowance. I am working today so I brought only healthy foods! I posted my weigh in. I had lost 5 lbs (-3.1 from my starting weight, my weight was actually higher than my starting weight this week.) SO I am hoping I get back on track quick enough to keep from having to lose a couple pounds all over again! I am going to make a goal next week of checking in here at least twice a day so I can keep up and hopefully keep my motivation where it should be! I will be on a liquid only diet tomorrow and Monday, but after the surgery Tuesday I will be back OP! |
Hello all! I just popped in for a minute. Wow, so much to read. I'll try to catch up later. I did notice the QOTD from yesterday. My health is the main factor that motivates me. That and being able to fit into my old clothes.

There aren't many public scales in this town. I think there may be one at Walgreens or Osco. However, I'd die before I would weigh publicly. Silly, I know... But that is how it is. :o Hey, Red Team. :D I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Sorry... My brain is a swim of emptiness, this morning. I have nothing to yap about. I just wanted to check in and say hi. |
Rain Dancer - is there a Bed,Bath & Beyond near you or something like that. I know at school I used to go over there and "use" there scale. No one will ever know. Hehe
Primm - thanks. The scale has moved. I honestly thought it was broken, but I went downstairs and tested out my parents and they matched up. But I will save the jumping up and down conversation after my official weigh in on monday. To everyone who is down this week - congrats. keep it up To everyone who is not down - remember that next week is a new week. Just don't let one setback ruin your decision for a healthier lifestyle. And who knows, you could have gained some muscle. Today my mom and I are accompanying my sister on a road trip to see her BF. We are going to have lunch together then my mom and I are just going to chill while they go hang out. By chill my mom definitely added a "maybe we will go to the bar" comment. I will be good. Have a rockin day RED TEAM. stay focused |
