Holy heck!

Speaking of Starbucks, though, what do you all think of their new breakfast stuff? I haven't tried it, but I heard they have oatmeal, which is kind of interesting.

Their donuts are, in fact, terrible. I completely agree.

Hi all Blue People! all this talk of doughnuts is getting to me - thought I would talk about something yummy but fairly low cal. I got myself a juicer a few days ago and made myself some green juice. Tasted it with trepidation and to my surprise it was delicious! Spinach, celery, apple, lime and ginger root - lovely! I love my juicer! Today I had cilantro instead of spinach which was OK - but I prefer the spinach. Tomorrow I'm going to try kale and parsley in place of the spinach or cilantro. Anyone else into green juice?

Then we shall change the subject! (Here's hoping this hasn't already been covered in chat )

What's your favorite Autumn-appropriate healthy dish?

I love Butternut Squash.

So, I cube a squash. Cover it with a jar of No Sugar Added apple butter. Bake it at 275F for about 45 min - 1 hour. Mush it all up. Ta da! Apple Butternut Mashed Squash. (You can add splenda or sugar if you so desire.)

ix-nay on the oughnuts-day

My favorite healthy fall food is definitely squash, but I do not like just cubes of squash roasted in any manner, apparently. Pumpkin goes in baked goods, and butternut squash gets blended into soup.

Those two things are wholly fall in my books. I have two big butternut squashes on my counter, ready to be made into soup - one into a pot of curried BNS, the other into apple & BNS soup :yum:

jaimie, are you in school there? we took a tour of the UVA quad too while we were there. of course saw edgar allen poe's room too (there were no ravens however

Jaime & Faerie - Hmm, well, if you're lazy cooking-wise (raises hand...), you can have the Trader Joe's butternut squash soup. It's really yummy, and works well as a base (you can add veggies/rice, etc.).

Michelle - Scarlet Letter, huh? Good book. I want to reread some books from high school as well, most notably The Things They Carried, A Separate Peace, maybe the Great Gatsby... Probably not Hamlet...

i then went to your office rubbed those same hands over the cakes in the fridge and then finally got to wash them.. if i get a stomach bug im gonna blame you two... lol

its school holidays here so no aqua for me.. im so bummed about it too..
the creche is only for little kids not school aged ones.. so im gonna be really missing out in the summer holidays .. its not fair.. if my hubby worked at home it wouldnt be an issue becuase they do night classes too.. but since i live the life of a single mother.. its really gonna screw me up in december and january.. 6 weeks no aqau... cry....

thinking about it it probably wont matter i will have my wii fit by then.. and doing that as my fun workout in my hot sweaty family room is gonna be good anyway.. i have my elliptical too and actually got on it yesterday.. lol.. and i really enjoyed it.. i seem to fall in and out of love with the elliptical... alwasy have but its a great workout .. i used to like my cheap amachine more becuase it had a seat so if i was feeling a bit off colour i would ride it more like a bike.. but the new one is one of those expensive machines.. with the hiit programmes .. so its harder work then the old one.. lol..

anyway i gotta run 830 almost and still havent had any breakfast.. the strawberries in the fridge are calling to me..... EAT ME EAT ME!!!! ok they are yelling...... gotta go..... lol

I never noticed that you live there. - I go a few times a year. My aunt lives about 20 minutes away. I have never done any of that fun stuff. We just go so we can go shopping.
