  • Good Morning!

I weighed in and I'm down 2lbs . I'm happy about it BUT I seem to fluctuate between 283 and 278 and I hate that! Why can't I just get away from those darn numbers

It looks like rain here today. I'm gonna do some laundry and hang some curtains and blindes. Were taking the kids to the circus at 5:30. I really don't want to go. I think circuses are cruel to their animals but the kids want to go so we'll see what happens.

    Have a great Sunday
  • Good Morning all!

Lonnie - circuses are very cruel!! say no and don't support them!

I have to go to Carrabba's for dinner with the family for my grandma's birthday. I really don't like chain restaurants but for Grandma on goes the Happy Face :-)

I had a fabulous time in Asheville yesterday just walking around and enjoying the fact that most of the restaurants use local/organic ingredients and have several veg*n options! I'm seriously considering moving there, just have to research the job market a bit more.

New goal for the week - keep up with the thread!
  • I'm BAFFLED! I'm watching the news and a 2 year old little girl drowned in a pool the other day. I think it's a 4 or 5ft pool. Guess were her parents were????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her dad was TAKING A NAP! Her mom was INSIDE MAKING SANDWICHES! . I can understand leaving an older child alone while you run inside for a MINUTE but a 2 year old baby??!! That makes me angry

I'm sorry I just wanted to vent a little. What is your opinion's on this?
  • Wow. What complete and udder idiots. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to breed. I'm sure it's hard to wach kids every moment of every day but it no way should a 2 year old be left outside alone.
  • well we are about to have an early lunch and then head to the carnival at the stadium that will be there this weekend....we didnt go there for the carnival (when it was free on the 4th) but we did go up to the chapel that night to see fireworks (without all the loud noise)...was fun.....so looking forward to letting the kids have fun without the large crowd...and the funnel cakes
weighed in yesterday, and am in the 140s, soooo close to the 139 point maybe this comign week i can finally get outta the 140
  • Finished painting the garage yesterday (only took 3 WEEKS to complete) and I was so tired that I was asleep before the fireworks started. If we don't walk down to the lake, we usually watch them from the house. Dang - I am getting old. My shoulders are so sore from 20+ hours of painting in the last 3 days, that I tried to pull weeds in the garden this morning, and I couldn't get them out of the ground

I think I need a Sabbath rest day today. But there are so many chores that need to be done, it is gonna be hard to sit back and enjoy the day.

Hope you are all having a safe and fun Sunday! Enjoy!
  • WOOOHOO I'm seeing some losses!! Way to go girls!!

Lonnie...time to bust away from those bumper numbers!! I know you can do it! Some people are IDIOTS!! I swear we need to have mandatory birth control, or at least make a person need to apply for a license to have a child. Ya gotta do it to own a dog why not a human being?

Heather...good luck with dinner tonight!! Happy Bday grandma! Oh how exciting moving to a new place!!

Counting...I hope you have a fantastic rest day! Sounds like you really need it today!

Okay I'm going to get some breakfast and head out to mow the lawn while its still fairly cool out. Its my therapy time! LOL! Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
  • Lonnie – I am the same way about circuses, I am not fond of how the animals are treated – supposedly Ringling Brothers does do some education/breeding, etc. to help their animals – of course I’m sure it’s not as much as I think. But, the kids do love the circus. I think I have only taken them once – just to say they’ve been. I took my cousin’s kids to a small circus once and we walked out because the animals looked so sick.

A two year old left alone in a pool? I wouldn’t leave a two year old alone outside, let alone in a pool. People can be such idiots! I’m amazed, you need a license to drive a car but anyone can have a baby. It’s not like they just ran into the bathroom either (not that I think that is okay). However, I do feel bad because apparently they thought it was okay and I’m sure the guilt is killing them.

Heather – I hope you find everything you want and are able to move – I love moving to new places (must be why I’ve moved about 15 times since I was 18!!)

Mandey – Hope you enjoy the carnival. I love that stuff (more than the kids sometimes!!)

Counting down – Don’t you hate it – even when you need to rest, you just can’t helping running the mental to do list through your mind! Take a rest – you worked hard and deserve it!!

Melissa – I love mowing the lawn lately – the mowers too loud for me to hear the kids arguing!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!
  • LOL Shelby!! I never even thought of that added benefit! But, I do use the ipod while mowing so even more kid noise buffer!
  • Mandey - hope you guys are having fun at the carnival!

Countingdown - take a break. Rest is important. You know what? that dust will still be there tomorrow :-)

Melissa - I hope you're enjoying your freshly mowed lawn!

Shelby - I joke that I'm part gypsy I get a 3 year itch after living in one place. I figure while I'm youngish and childless it's a lot easier to do. Darcy the dog is pretty chill with wherever we go! Are you settled in NY now or plans to move again?
  • Lawns mowed and I'm all stinky and sweaty! Dont ya just love fresh mowed grass?

So, my dad just called my grandpa is in open heart surgury as we speak. He has to have 2 valves replaced and a double bipass (not sure what all that means but thats what he's having done) My grandpa has had a long fruitful life and has decided he'd rather die on the operating table than drown to death which is what would happen if he didnt have the surgury. I respect that decision but still hope all goes well.

Okay I suppose I should go hose off! And then its making lists time! I need to get my life organized!
  • Good Afternoon Teamies!!

Lonnie - Congratulations on your weight loss. Don't get discouraged! Keep on keeping on, and I'm sure you'll soon put those numbers far behind you!! And try to have fun at the circus.

Heather - Chain resturaunts make it a bit more difficult to stay on plan, but I'm sure you'll have a great time with your family.

Mandey - Wow! You are so close. You must be so pleased with yourself!!

Counting - Oh, I just love to paint. Too bad I couldn't give you a hand. I bet it looks smashing!! You really ought to take a day of rest, that's why God gave it to us!

Melissa - I just said a quick prayer for your grandfather. I hope everything goes well, and you have peace through this time. And good job on the lawn mowing. When you do an "exercise" where you can actually see tangible results, it makes it all the better!!

Shelby, and all you other great ladies out there - Have a great afternoon! And keep up the good work!!

    : cheer:
  • Heather – I did most of my moving from the time I was 18 until I was 24 – then I met my husband – we still live near his family – how boring!! Staying in NY – two kids, both will be in school this fall and I’m not a big fan of moving them if I don’t need to. My husband isn’t much of a “world traveler” anyway. I had a cat back when I moved a lot – she was great at it – loved the rides!! I had to fill out something last week and list all my addresses from the time I was 18 – I was the only one who needed another piece of paper! Hope you had a nice dinner with grandma (and the family!)

Melissa – I hope your grandfather is okay. My dad had a quadruple bypass almost two years ago – it’s amazing how much better he felt after. They took veins from his leg to replace the ones in his heart that weren’t working right.

And to the rest of my team mates -- hope you had a great weekend -- and that your week goes well!! Don't forget to post your weigh in
  • well, we tried going to the carnival...guess the turnout after the 4th was not as good as they had hoped (it was free friday, but yesterday and today we would have had to pay for rides).....so when we drove by they were packing things up to leave...so we went to the PX for a few things....then came home and put little guy to sleep while we vacuumed and cleaned the carpets in our vehicles...i was drippin sweat while vacuuming the can out...so that was a good workout, of sorts LOL
  • Mel - Hope your gramps will be OK...

This has been a completely on track week for me however the scale doesn't seem to agree. I ate/exercised enough I should have lost 3lbs this week. We will see what it says in the morning but I don't think it will be 3... but hey any downward movement is great.

I biked 34 miles today. I did the entire North Branch Trail Loop which goes from the edge of Chicago wayyyy into the suburbs. It was the first time I was able to loop through the end of the trail, so I'm happy about that.

One more week until my Tri. By this time next week I will have finished my first one! woot.

hope everyone had a great week/holiday!
