Thanks Nancy - Although these guys haven't seen my before picture. I guess I should suck it up and post one for them. :)

Just a quick fly-by to say hello :)

Doing well - but it is very cold outside (below 0 Degrees F). I'm glad I have plenty of indoor exercise options :)

Sounds like almost everyone is having a great day!

Melissa - that scale will be back down soon! Mine goes up and down like a ping-pong ball! It can drive you crazy if you let it!

Shy - I hope your computer is back to 100% soon! I know what you mean about giving to the kids first. It is how many of us ended up with more lbs. than we want. We spend so much time taking care of everyone EXCEPT ourselves!

Muse - hope the leg is better soon!

Laura - I would keel over after a half a mile! I could WALK 10 miles (and have), but run - WOW! That is awesome!!!

Tina - I finished cleaning my closet today too (I started last weekend). It is mostly full of empty hangers right now. And I am having a really hard time not hitting all of the January sales. I usually buy a lot of clothes this time of year. I never realized what a clothes horse I am until I decided to wait until goal to buy anything else new.

Roni - dress number one is definitely the one! It is beautiful and I'm sure you will be gorgeous in it!

Jen - glad you are getting better!

To everyone else - have a great rest of the weekend!

Counting- Bbbrrrrrrr, I dunno how you guys living in cold weather do it! :brr: I am originally a So. California girl so anything below 40 and I'm dying. LOL Your weight loss is impressive. How does it feel to be getting so close to your goal? You must feel very liberated in knowing how far you have succeeded! Your closet better watch out, it won't know what hit it very soon! :D

Well I've been having a sort've "80's flashback" in my house today. Listening to all the music I loved when I was a teenager. Can't beat the 80's for a great afternoon of housecleaning and laundry. Of course my kids think I have fallen & hit my head, turning up their noses at me for liking this music. "Mom, are you serious. You really listened to this when you were our age? EWWWWWW". Kids!

Question: What is your comfort food and have you found a way to make it healthy?

my comfort foods are quesadillas and pizza and you can make them very low points with low carb whole wheat tortillas for 1pt and FF or LF cheese.

danielle - honestly - it feels really great! I catch my reflection sometimes and I double-take - is that really me? I have been over on the maintenance forum reading their pearls of wisdom in hopes that I will be prepared when I finally get there.
That being said, I may adjust my goal when I get there. I'm suspecting that it is actually somewhere between 130 and 140. But, now that I am over 50 and have hit menopause, I'm not sure that my previous "normal" weight of 130 is viable anymore. My body has definitely changed since my 30s (the last time I was at a goal weight). In any case - I'm hoping to hit my final goal by summer :)

I am fortunate - the music of my youth is classic rock-n-roll (60s and 70s). My kids always preferred MY music to the popular songs of their era (90s and 00s). We visited our oldest DS and his wife a couple weeks ago. The music they played was still the music of my youth :)

Well after about 4 hours of cleaning my closet it's done, and I have to say it looks nice! I got rid of a bunch of clothes that are too big, or that I just don't wear anymore. I was surprised at how many things still had tags on them...I guess my husbands right when he says I don't need anything else. I can't pass up a shirt for $3.00 though;) It feels good to have it done though. Kev made homemade pizza tonight for dinner...YUM-OHHH it was good. I had a slim fast shake for breakfest and some almonds for snack and skipped lunch all together....I didn't mean to I just got busy with the closet, so I'm hoping dinner wasn't too bad! Tonight we're just going to watch some movies and chill...I'm beat!

Counting- We have lost about the same amount of weight and have about the same left to loose...I thought that was pretty neat!

Danielle- There is nothing like some good 80's music to get you in the mood! I love some old Madonna;)

Well I'm off to watch some movies...have a great night ladies~

Everyone, thank you so much for all the support! I am feeling a thousand times better today. I ran 10 miles this morning at an awesome pace, so if I apply that to yesterday, it almost makes up for what I ate. Now, I just need to stay on-plan today, and then really watch what I eat in Boston this weekend. Probably doable! Now I'm just debating whether I want to weigh in tomorrow morning before I leave, or keep my Monday weigh in and toss my scale in my suitcase! Haha.

Laura, I found it on THIS Web site:D

You should have looked at them and said, "Like whateverrrrr" gag me with a spoon! hehe

Just popping in to check up, I am very sleepy! But NO more Burger King... ever! I promise. :) I wasn't feeling too good today so I couldn't exercise and I kept my calories below 1200 and surprisingly, I feel full and not at all hungry, go figure. MUST be the Double Fiber Wheat bread. ;)

BTW, laura! 10 miles is toally awesome!

Hey team!

Well, I didn't make it up to the Biggest Loser thing today, but there is still tomorrow...I just don't know if I'll make it, but no biggie. Now if Bob & Jillian were there, I'd be present, no question, LOL!

I went grocery shopping today, and I found these 100 calorie Little Debbie brownies...they are SO TASTY, but I won't be buying them again because they are SO TINY and leave me wanting more, more, MORE! Ha!

In other news, had a good day today. Worked out for 50 minutes, ate pretty well, and am hoping for a good weigh in on Monday. :)

Scenestealer 01-20-2008 05:30 AM

I'm heading off to Boston in a few mins, so I weighed in today (day early). My weight has been in the 126s all week, and then today it jumped up to 130!!! There is no way I gained 4 pounds in a day, so I'm chalking today's up to water weight, and using yesterday's weight as my official one for the weigh in. (This is exactly why I weigh daily but only record weekly). I really hope this is not cheating as per the challenge? If it is, someone please let me know and I will change it, but gaining four pounds in a day just doesn't make sense.

I'll try to check in over the next few days, but can't guarantee how frequent that will be. I WILL make some good choices though, I swear! Talk to you ladies soon :)

Mom23BC 01-20-2008 09:51 AM

Thanks for the welcome guys. Well, I did my weigh yesterday, and had an awesome number. I was down a total of 5.5 pounds. Got on the scale today and down another pound. I just stopped nursing, so my body has finally decided to give up some of this fat. Thank goodness. Have a great day!

Mom23BC 01-20-2008 09:58 AM

Jlbake (Jen): How old are your kids! Congrats on the weight loss.

LadyZaidi 01-20-2008 10:44 AM

Good Morning Everyone! Even tho I'm not a frequent poster, I wanted to check in and let you know I'm still on plan and sticking to my mission. I enjoy reading as many of the posts as I can. My family is in MN, and I don't have really close friends in NY, so all of you here are VERY important to me. I want to say THANKS to all of you for helping me feel less isolated and more a part of a great group of people! Have a great day! ~Nicole

I'd say probably water weight or did you have a lot of sodium yesterday? I find the day following I eat salted nuts or chips or anything with high sodium I always put on a couple of pounds.

Have a great time in Boston!

Congrats on the 5.5 pounds lost!! That is awesome! :cheer:
