My Atkins menu - please review and advise - Induction phase

  • Hi Guys,

The only way that I can do it .. If I prep dishes in advance and freez them.
    Induction phase - 1

    Here is the menu.

    Meal Plan 1

    Breakfast - eggs + ham

Lunch - Spinach or other greens + Chicken ( Baked, Cooked )+ Dressing no sugar / 0 carbs

Dinner - 1.5 Chicken Brest with cheese/ little cube ( Baked or Fried ) + Mashed cauliflower

    Meal Plan 2

    Breakfast - eggs + bacon ( 2 strips )

Lunch - same as before greens + chicken or turkey + dressing

Dinner - 2 pieces of pork wrapped with dill pickle and bacon - fried/or baked + broccoli

    Meal Plan 3

    Breakfast - eggs + sausage

Lunch - green as above olive oil + vinegar

Dinner - low carb chili + cheese

If I get hungry some Miracle Noodles ( No Sugar, No Carbs ) + Srriraca sauce 1 tbsp

    Lots of water.

What do you guys think about these... Is this stuff ok for induction phase ?

Does baking vs cooking vs frying makes difference, I',m planning of using olive oil, coconut oil

I will count Carbs in portions.

Please advise if this good menu for induction phase or its to much.

    Thank you
  • Hello mrWho,

Your menu looks pretty good. Have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 or a prior version? This is critical in doing Atkins the way Dr. Atkins designed it. That being said, you should be getting 12-15 net carbs (total carbs minus dietary fiber) from veggies & salad. Have you printed out the Induction acceptable foods list? Basically, if it isn't on that list, don't eat it.

Be sure you are eating protein with your veggies or salad. I usually have 2 salads per day, 1 for lunch and a small salad at dinner. I also found a good way to be sure I was getting enough veggies was to add raw veggies to my salads.

Personally, I would stay away from those "Miracle Noodles" as well as the Sirracha sauce. Also, what are the ingredients in the "low carb" chili ?

Make sure you are eating enough. You might want to consider a snack or 2. Hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, bacon, tuna salad, chicken salad, all make great snacks.

    I hope this helps.

    All the best to you!!
