Cheese?!
I read about cheese containing carbs. But when I read the food labels on our cheese (gouda, edam, emental...) it clearly states that it has zero carbs. It's not 0.1 or 0.5 but 0!
Now I'm puzzled. Is it possible that there are zero carb cheeses? Are American cheeses somehow different? I also read Feta label and that one states 0.45carbs per 100 grams (more than 3 oz). Your opinions? |
actually all cheeses have carbs (dairy) In my 1992 Atkins book, it lists:
This is per 1 oz Cheddar - .6 grms of carbs Swiss 1 grm American .6 Cottage 7 Cream Cheese .5 Camembert 1 Feta 1 Muenster .3 Provolone .5 So yes all cheeses have carbs,,,,, I have read that if it is 1 or under.. they can put Zero on the package :) Hope that this helps! |
Even if the label says 0, there's somehow always *some* carbs :( small or minimal, they're there.
I wasn't sure of the counts until I read wannaskipandlaugh 's post. |
