Hey guys, alcohol in moderation, is allowed. It says so in the book.:p It goes on to say that if you drink alcohol, you are going to burn the alcohol first, instead of fat. I gave up my sugar and my starches, but I'm keeping my alcohol:drinkup: The best part is that since I don't eat much food now, I can get drunk on only one drink.:flow2:

On Sun., I have a family get-together at my Mom's house where pizza is going to be served. I already offered to bring a big salad, which I will eat as my main course, with some added tuna. I don't care about the food. You know why, because one of my coworkers told me today "You look so skinny":carrot: If I go off plan, it is going to be for something spectacular. . .Just like Globe said, we have worked so hard, I'm not throwing it all away for nothing.

I think if you drink lots of water you have to be sure to have enough salt in your diet too. I know if I start to get achey or tired or lightheaded I try to increase my salt...l I've never used a lot .. So it is a conscious decision to be sure to use more ..

Today I was running around and didn't get as much water in ... Will have to be super consious about it tomorrow..

Made the crack slaw recipe tonight - since hubs is away I could make it spicier - yum. I also used ground chicken instead of hamburger and it was great. And I still put extra Rooster Sauce on it (Sirachi sauce) ... Tomorrow I'm going to try a new recipe I saw for buffalo chicken meatballs - on salad sounds yummy to me too. And I can freeze the extra meatballs for when hubris away in a few more weeks ..

To give you all a laugh today - I went to get some pants for walking at the Rec. Center (it's on an elevated track and gets really hot from now till winter) I ended up with some capris (which I hate but I just won't look at myself when I wear them - especially when I put walking shoes and socks on lol) but I tried on some shorts ... ACCCKKKKK I won't be wearing them - probably not ever again .. My legs are hideous ... Lumpy bumpy saggy - and bruised because I'm always bruised - I guess I will be looking for sleeveless dresses I can wear different
t-shirts under ..... I stood in the dressing room going oh no no no no no and laughing ....

Hoping to lose another lb before Memorial Day - I want to hit 80 lost ..

So not looking forward to next weekend - living in a tourist area it means no parking in town and lots and lots of traffic - a trip that normally takes 20 minutes can take an hour from next weekend on.. But I hope they spend lots of money this year - lots of friends in retail and the stores can all use the boost.

Had to say WHOO HOOO on the co-worker comment :D. And you can have pizza toppings with your salad don't forget...

globetrotter74 05-19-2012 01:02 AM

I have to woohoo on the coworker comment as well for ya serenity :)

Serenity you have loast 21 pounds that is great.. you are doing well :carrot:

rho you know sometimes I'm often tired out of the blue and I eat enough so I know it isnt that so maybe it could be the water.. I'm limiting myself to 4 liters a day and not to go over that.. rho I lived in a tourist town so I feel your pain

we have 9 more days until memorial day and I'm aiming for 1 more pound... I've made my goal but if I can lose one more that would be great!!!

Keep up the good work everyone

Serenity100 05-19-2012 09:04 AM

Thanks for the compliments guys. I lost another pound today, making my total for the challenge so far 8 lbs down. But while looking over my stats I noticed that I only lost 2 lbs during the month of May. I know why, because I have made freaking excuses every day why I don't go for my walk. First it was cause it was raining, then I was sick, and yesterday it was because I had a bad headache and I was tired. To quote Scarlett O'Hara "As God is my witness:)", I am going to walk every day or do an exercise CD inside! (starting tomorrow, cause today I have that wedding. :D)

On another note, I have been reading several discussions on this thread and 3FC concerning water. I found this webpage http://www.waterbenefitshealth.com/d...ight-loss.html which explains very simply how much water one should drink while trying to lose weight. It says 1/2 oz per lb you weigh. Ex if you weigh 180 lbs drink 90 oz. Lots of more info such as how your body processes the water, and easily explained.

Have a great Saturday, and keep on doing it!

have a ball at the wedding!

I am trying to do 500 steps minimum an hour if I don't get to walk at the Rec. Center - I actually have an alarm set to remind me - I must admit though that days like today it goes off and I ignore it for the most part because I'm on a cleaning roll and if I stop for more than a few minutes to have some coffee and check the computer lol I won't get back to it. Oh and I'm going to try to walk up and down the stairs a few times a day and build it up to more and more...I look for ways to add exercise that I can build up slowly and can do at home -- and I'm not going to count laundry stairs either :dizzy:

177.0 today! Nice to see another lower number :) So close to goal.

I feel like I'm getting a cold or something, my throat is sore. Earlier in the week I felt like I had a sinus infection. Not sure what I can do for a sore throat, might just have another cup of coffee haha.

Husband gets home tonight! And so do friends who are coming to see us :) They are coming up here to check out local areas for hiking and stuff. I didn't realise this, but they expect us to go hiking with them tomorrow! She told me it's a baby friendly spot. I don't know what they are thinking but I don't think my stroller will go where they want it too :P

globetrotter74 05-19-2012 04:40 PM

 Serenity love the Scarlett quote  have a good time at the wedding

rho I often count cleaning my house as exercise because you are moving etc.. the steps are a good thing walking up and down them is exercise for sure

 Step maybe your friends thought you had one of those backpack where you can hold the baby in.. I hike quite often and I see couples with their kids in those backpacks and congrats on the loss :carrot:

aud 05-19-2012 05:10 PM

I'm still here and Challenging with you All :D . . . it's just been "challenging" to get here lately lol:dizzy:

Still got the exercise down pat :carrot: . . . but my carb level is more Maintenance amounts than weight loss. I stayed pretty low yesterday but determined to reach Induction levels starting 2day for that final push.

I really am trying to adjust mentally to be proud of my exercise (weights 3-4 days week and weekend bike rides) and proud that I am maintaining not gaining, ya know?

I haven't caught up on the Posts yet so will be back to chat - cleaning the basement (organize chaotic holiday mess) and storing winter away (finally:o) this afternoon - going on a sunset bike ride again tonight by the river - if the mosquitoes don't carry me off!;) They are already bad this year.

globetrotter74 05-20-2012 05:42 AM

aud check in when can :)

you know aud at least you haven't gained any weight and you'll get back to the right mix of carbs etc.. to lose...

ewww I hate mosquitoes.. here in italy we have the tiger mosquitoes and you can hear them buzzing around your ear etc.. hate those things

globetrotter74 05-20-2012 05:46 AM

hello everyone weighed in today and scale hasn't moved. but TOM is due anyday now so I figure it would not, but I've lost inches :D.. still staying on plan and will see what the scale says after TOM.. it takes at least 3/4 days after for any weight loss to show after TOM

we are getting so close to memorial day and a lot of guys have already made your goals :carrot: and it seems that everyone has lost something :carrot: we all rock and doing so well...

keep up the good work everyone :D

Serenity100 05-20-2012 12:56 PM

Aud, you should be very proud of your exercise! Maybe you should just count your calories a little closer and you will start losing.

I went for my walk today, no excuses, especially since the weather here today rates a perfect ten!

The wedding was loads of fun, I danced lots, so that must have burned some calories. And, did really well sticking to plan. I can't even explain the extravagance of Long Island Weddings, and the over abundance of food. First, there is a full buffet "cocktail hour" Then you go to the main room, where you start out with a salad, then they bring you a plate of pasta, then they bring you an "intermezzo" which is some lemon ice. Then you have your main course. But wait, then you go into a ROOM filled with cakes, ice cream, chocolate fountain for the Viennese Hour. Don't forget there is a full bar from the moment you get there to the moment you leave. I took 2 strawberries from the Viennese Hour, and that was it. I didn't even consider eating any of the other stuff. That is a NSV for me.:flow1:

TTFN. Keep on doing it! We are all doing great.

globetrotter74 05-20-2012 01:12 PM

way to go serenity for the willpower.. the wedding sounds like italian wedding eating all day and night. well that is true for Xmas and Easter as well :lol I don't eat pasta anymore after being here for 5 years I stopped 2 years ago so pasta doesn't phase me anymore
