Everyone is doing great - I lost but of course I forgot to figure how much but the most important thing I'm in a new decade of numbers :carrot: that always feels like such a milestone to me... I have 7 more to go for the challenge so I should make it I have been averaging 8 lbs a month... What I wouldn't give for a few of those 10 lb months - why does 2 extra lbs so like sooo much more :p

oh that's terrible. How old is your daughter? It's hard to stay on plan when you're dealing with trauma. I'm glad you made it back! :)

I know weigh-in isn't until Saturday, but I officially hit the half-way point today...10lbs gone in 16 days! I attribute 8lbs of that due to being off-plan for about 3 months and starting induction all over again because my first day in the challenge was my first day back. Normally, i'd be lucky to lose half of that in that amount.

That's horrible at any age, but you feel even more helpless when they're that young

awww! bless her heart!

My 11 year old nephew had to go to urgent care tonight after another kid fell on him in a football scrimmage. He broke both bones in the forearm, the radius and ulna :(

He sees an orthopedist tomorrow. It hurts to see them hurt. I hope your daughter is recovering ok

hello
she had a dr's appointment today and he said she has lost some movement in arm since last visit. so more therapy and more hours using a brace that staightens it and flex's it. so its gonna take a while. to get it going im afraid. she doesnt deal well with the pain. i think it will make her a stronger person by going through this. but its rough right now. just gotta keep pushing her everyday.
thank you everyone for the concern :)
Jess

hi V73
kids and playing they get hurt sometimes and sounds like he really broke it good. my daughters was a brake in her elbow and the bone broke off and pins had to hold it in place.

Jess, his was just fractured, not a bad break. He has to wear the cast for four weeks and that means he won't get to play football which is just now starting. He said he would cheer his team on, on the sidelines though!

How is everyone doing on their diet? I'm hanging in there. I would love to see onederland soon!

My first 2 weeks were great...lost 10lbs quickly. The last few days have been constant...not concerned.

I was 18 1/2 days staying perfectly on plan...I caved this afternoon though. I ate a light breakfast and ended up staying at the university library longer than expected. So, I was hungry and stopped at our local grocery store to grab some plain, baked wings for lunch. Of course they were out, but had honey-garlic there. I gave in and bought 20...they're gone now, so i've been back on track for 2 hours and 45 minutes...lol.

Oh the poor little one - I broke my arm just above the elbow a few years ago but didn't have any surgery because the way it was broken I might have had worse problems but I so know how she is feeling - not fun at all...

hey, as long as you made your way back that's what counts! Also, you still probably had less carbs than the average American who eats tons of pasta, breads, candy, etc. :)

I know...could've been a lot worse. As long as I'm able to get a grip on it right away, i'm good. However, in the past i'd tell myself that it's ok to cheat once every couple weeks. Then I convince myself that it's ok to cheat once a week. Then it turns into whole weekends and before I know it i'm totally messed up and packing on the pounds again.

My greatest struggle is with that little devil on my shoulder trying to convince me that one taste won't hurt. You'd think i'd learn not to trust that little devil...he's been trouble in many ways before...lol.

Violet73 09-24-2011 01:22 PM

yeah, I know what you mean! I would have a little cheat that would turn into a big cheat which turned into MONTHS of track and I was still the same size. I'm done with cheats. Keeping my fridge stocked and being prepared is what I'm focused on so that I'm not tempted to cheat. I have to stay on track now.
