Skin sensitive to touch?
I'm not sure what is going on.. I've been following Atkins induction to the T for two weeks not. For the last few days, my skin (I think?) Has felt extremely sensitive. If someone just barely touches me, it hurts. Especially sensitive in the hips. Any ideas?

I used to only get that feeling when I was getting or had the flu. Then it became a common symptom (of what turned out to be fibromyalgia).
I can still judge the severity of a fibro flare by how sensitive my skin is. If I can't bear for my husband to even rub his hand over my arm or back, I know it's a bad one. I'm not saying that your symptom is the flu, or fibro, or unrelated to diet. For me low-carb actually tends ot relieve the symptom (and high carb can trigger or worsen it). If you suspect low-carb, you could try to raise your carbs a bit and see if you get relief. Different people have different "sweet spots" when it comes to carbs. For me, too many carbs and I get yucky health problems and symptoms. Too few carbs and I also get yucky health problems and symptoms (though I'm learning that my "sweet spot" is a lot lower-carb than I would have expected). |
