Protein Drinks
I have been working out like crazy and one of the things I have been asked at the gym is if I drink any type of protein shake. I did years ago when I was at a much healthier weight but have not considered it since I have been on the program. I don’t recall seeing anything in the book on it, but was wondering if we can.
I do feel EXHAUSTED after my workouts, and I do believe it is starting to show. I appreciate any tips…thanks! |
Ok, I will be honest...I haven't read the book. But I do know there is a protein drink called AdvantEDGE Carb Control by EAS. I drink it as a meal sometimes. Here are the nutritional facts:
Energy, Cal: 110 Energy from Fat, Cal: 25 Fat, g: 3 Saturated Fat, g: 0 Trans Fat, g: 0 Cholesterol, mg: 5 Sodium, mg: 260 Potassium, mg: 540 Carbohydrate, g: 4 Dietary Fiber, g: 2 Sugars, g: 0 Protein, g: 17 Most stores have them and they run about 4 to 5 bucks for 4 drinks. Hope this helps a little! |
I drink the Atkins shakes after working out. I know a lot of people feel it stalls their weight loss but it doesn't effect me.

Thanks ladies! I hadn't even thought of the Atkins drinks as an after workout drink...hmmm...food for thought.
The gym I go to does carry the AdvantEdge drinks, so I may have to check them out. :carrot: |
I haven't used it since starting Atkins, but I have Designer Whey protein powder. It has 3g carbs per scoop, which isn't too bad. I used to drink it in soy milk but almond milk is lower in carbs and even water is supposed to work (but I find it gross). It tasted good in soy milk :)
