Weigh In for the LOVE MYSELF Valentines Day Challenge...
I just checked with my doctor's office, and they'll be closed Jan. 1. So, I'll be weighing in to get my starting weight tomorrow morning (Friday, 31st). I'm excited, Atkins Chicks! :val1:

I am not a Champagne fan. Beer is my drink of choice. I know that alcohol is not for induction, but seeing as I am going to be out and I know there is going to be alcohol being served and I will be part of the celebration, I am going to go ahead and allow it. If I have to start from square one again, so be it. I am only 4 days in -so it's not like I am going to be undoing that much progress.
I know that if I don't go ahead and get this out of the way, then I will probably fail this plan. It's my fault for not thinking ahead and starting before NYE... |

I'm sorry, Beckyh, I misunderstood. I thought you were subsituting low carb beer for champagne - didn't know you prefer beer. Trying to help...
Everyone, when I post ".....is not for Induction," I'm not trying to preach at you, nor do I think I'm telling you something you don't know. I post that way because if I don't, JerseyGyrl will give me a smack-down. :D She's great about monitoring this board and reminding us of what is and is not allowed on Induction. I'm grateful for her posts, but I don't want her to think I don't know better. Sometimes, I'm just off plan because I decide to be...:devil: |
I think that is a great challenge. 14 lbs would be a ton of work. But totally doable! I'm in!

I just realized that when I lose four more pounds, I'll be half-way to my goal...that sounds good, but it also sounds like a long way.

Half-way is amazing! I can't wait until I hit my half-way mark. If you lost that weight once, you can do it again. :)
I finished off my veggie burgers--they were expensive and I didn't want to waste them. Now we'll see if those are what caused my stall. Right now I'm at 245 but I don't want to update my ticker because I'm not sure if it's TOM bloat/water so I'm going to wait a week or so to see. I'm excited to start our challenge. :yay: |
I wouldn't change the ticker either...it's a combination of water retention, salt, TOM and flying across the country...that gives everybody bigger numbers on the scales.
Our challenge will be fun! It'll be so amazing if I can even come close to making 14 pounds by Valentines. We can do it! |
Oh! I didn't take your post in anyway other than being helpful, I hope I didn't come across as rude in my response. I just wanted to be clear that my intentions were not from misinformation. I am just going to start fresh on Saturday after all the celebrating is over. This will be my last time out for a while, so I want to make the most of it. Hopefully it won't do too much damage, but if it does, I am ready for the challenge of getting it all back off.
This past week I really haven't been counting my carbs like I should. I have just been eating lots of lean protein, cheeses and Atkins OK foods without measuring. After the new year I will be more diligent with it because I do want maximum results. Thank you for any information or advice that you give. It is very helpful and motivating to have people on your side rooting for you to go all the way. |
I'd love to join this challenge and agree it does it seems like a ton of weight to lose, but I'm going for it! Good luck everyone!!

Welcome, Krista! We can do this...eat on plan, take a walk every day or use a treadmill, drink your water. We'll get there before we know it.
I'm beginning a zumba class starting next week on Wednesday nights to entertain myself and get me moving in this cold weather. Please post often. We want to know what you're discovering, thinking, and doing. This is a very supportive group. :cheer3: |

I would also love to do the Valentine's Day challenge! I too am reading up and will be starting Atkins for the New Year. I am really excited and truly believe this will be a plan that I can stick to. I am already motivated, but having this challenge will give me a small goal to start off with and will make me feel like I am being held accountable for my actions...which is a relly good thing. So here is to starting the New Year off right!!
